Big Question
Which cookie will
hold the most milk?
Hypothesis
• I think that the hard Chips Ahoy cookies will
hold the most milk because the hard Chips
Ahoy cookies have no moisture and unfilled
air bubbles.
Interesting facts from research
• Cookies are full of pores. These pores are
empty spaces which allow the milk to enter
into them.
• The chunky Chips Ahoy cookie has been a very
popular cookie to dip in milk.

Hard Chips Ahoy cookies
Soft Chips Ahoy cookies
Oreo cookies
Cookies all covered in hardened fudge
Gram scale
Glass of milk
Piece of paper
Pencil
Step by step instructions
1. Use a weighing scale ( in grams) to measure each
cookie. Write down the grams each one weighs.
2. Get a glass of milk out and then dunk a cookie in it for
10 seconds.
3. Use the scale to weigh it then record how many grams
it weighs.
4. Repeat step 2 - 3 for each cookie. Also write down
how much they weigh after being dunked in milk.
5. Subtract their weight when they weren`t dunked to
the weight when they were dunked.
6. Find which cookie changed the most in weight by
finding the biggest sum of answers.
Observations
• When I dunked the cookie that was all
covered in hardened fudge, it actually
absorbed some milk when I thought it
wouldn`t.
• The hard Chips Ahoy cookies and the soft
Chips Ahoy cookies weighed 230 grams before
being dunked

Analysis of data
• The cookie that gained the most milk was the
hard Chips Ahoy cookie with 120 grams gained
Conclusion
• My conclusion is that the Hard Chips Ahoy
cookies hold the most milk and if you love
cookies to absorb a lot of milk the best cookie
to use is Hard Chips Ahoy cookies.
