a field of science that uses lasers for the
microscopic study of biological
molecules, cells and tissues.
Dr. Mthunzi is developing an HIV testing
device that makes use of lasers to
assess blood samples, and plans to
design the device in such a way that it
doesn’t require a medical professional to
operate it.
