美国“数学大联盟杯赛” (Math League) 是美
国及北美地区影响力最大的中小学数学赛事，
也是一项具有全球影响力的中小学生数学赛事。
美国“数学大联盟杯赛”第一届竞赛于1977年
举行， 至今已经连续举办了35年。
每年有来自全球的超过一百万名中小学生参加。

Mr. Steven R. Conrad & Mr. Daniel Flegler: 美国著
名的数学教育家
1985年荣获由里根总统颁发的“杰出数学教育总统
奖”。
1977年Mr. Daniel Flegler获得普林斯顿大学颁发的
“卓越中学教育奖”
担任了六年的美国SAT 组委会会员(SAT是美国大学
的入学考试)。
担任了很多数学杂志的主编和审阅人。他们是美国
十五个州和地区的数学竞赛组委会主任委员或委员。
共同出版了15本书。

Fermat’s Last Theorem
Around 1637, Fermat wrote his
Last Theorem in the margin of his
copy of the Arithmetica next to
Diophantus' sum-of-squares
problem:

two cubes, or a fourth power into two
fourth powers, or in general, any
power higher than the second, into
two like powers. I have discovered a
truly marvelous proof of this, which
this margin is too narrow to contain.
However, in the last thirty years of
his life, Fermat never again wrote
of his "truly marvellous proof" of
the general case.
