STORYLINE
Taking cue from the Pied Piper Rahel, Estha and
Sophie Mol go away to home to heightrn yhe adults
remorse;


They go in a dark river with them boat;
They have an incident and they fall into the current of
the dark wather;

Rahel and Estha are able to go to the bank, but
Sophie Mol can't.

Characters
AMMU: mother of Estha and Rahel. She is divorced
and she has a secret affair with Velutha who is an
Untouchable.
ESTHA and RAHEL: two seven-years-old twins. Estha
is a boy and Rahel is a girl.
SOPHIE MOL: daughter of Chacko and his English exwife
CHACKO: uncle of Eatha and Rahel

ARUNDHATI ROY
Arundhati Roy was born in 1961 in Shillong, Meghalaya,India.

Her mother was a rights activist.

Her brother had schizophrenia and committed suicide, possibly while under the
influence of drugs of abuse.

At the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi she met her first
husband: the architect Gerard DaCunha.

Roy met her second husband, filmmaker Pradip Krishen, in 1984.

Roy began writing her first novel, The God of Small Things, in 1992,
completing it in 1996.

In 2007, Roy announced that she would begin work on a second novel.

