Principles underlying Sec 2 Streaming Process (Normal Technical) • Our basic approach is to provide a set of courses in which you can score well and which will allow you the widest choice of course at the next level. • The school is determined to help every BPIAN to achieve this target. • We will work with parents to get a win-win situation for every one of you. • It is important to realise that having more subjects does NOT guarantee getting a better L1B2. • It is better to take six subjects and get As than take seven subjects and score a mixture of As and Bs. 2012 Subject Combinations Offered during Streaming English Mother Tongue Mathematics Science Computer Applications Elements of Business Design & Technology Skills N Level Exam for Design & Technology Paper 1 Written paper 40% Paper 2 Coursework 60% Design Folio Presentation Board (Jan – Aug) Elements of Business Skills • Understanding of Business Activities • Understanding Service Industries • Marketing Products & Services • Customer Relations Lessons & Assignments for EBS • Group assignments • Internet research • Field research • Presentation/Role play • Written Role Playing good customer service Field Trip @ IMM Work Experience Programme @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel @ Tangs (Vivo City) N Level Examination for EBS Paper 1 Paper 2 Written paper 60% 1½h Coursework 40% 20h supervised work Mindset for Excellence Target for Sec NT students to achieve: – 3 to 4 Grade A – to be one of the top GCE N(T) students (6 distinctions) Mindset for Excellence 2009 4NT – 6 national top students Grading System for Normal Technical Subjects Grades A B C D U Marks (%) 75-100 70-74 60-69 50-59 0-49 ITE Admission NT Grade ITE Aggregrate Points A 1 B 2 C 3 D 4 U 5 ITE Admission CCA Grade NA subjects Grade Bonus Points A1-A2 2 B3-C6 1 1-5 2 pts for each subj (4 pts max) NITEC Courses for 2011 intake Courses Campus Aerospace Avionics Service Skills (Office) Service Skills (Tourism) Info-Comm Technology Electronics Automotive Technology Service Skills (Retail) Chemical Process Technology Nursing Central West West West West West West East East Cut-off points (based on best 4 subj) 4 7 8 10 11 12 13 14 15 For information on ITE NITEC Courses http://www.ite.edu.sg Couse curriculum Course video clips Q&A Year Head for NA/NT Mr Lim Chee Whee lim_chee_whee@moe.edu.sg
