By: Saeed Al Naimi 8A QATAR’S NATIONAL VISION 2030 (SOCIAL) QATAR 2030 PLAN Qatar’s 2030 plan for the topic (SOCIAL) would be about giving rights to the Qatari women and balancing it with religion at the same time. This means that the women should have rights but with in the religion boundaries. NOW… Now the women are probably are educated and they would also teach in universities. There are also women who are in high school studying hard to make their own living. BY QATAR 2022 I think that by 2022 women would be owners of new universities and also maybe Education Cities. They could also open new international schools all over Qatar so a good education would be provided all over Qatar. WOMEN IN UNIVERSITIES Statistics show that the number of Qatari female students in the State-run schools for the current academic year has risen at greater rates than the number of male students. Working women also represent a sizable ratio of 52% of the total workforce at the Ministry of Education. RELIGION IN QATAR In Qatar there are about 200 mosques. There are also a couple of Catholic Churches, Qatar is the only country in the Arabian Gulf that has a Church. This shows that Qatar is a country which balances religion and that it cares for other peoples religion. THE STATE MOSQUE The State Mosque will be clearly visible from the Corniche and it will have a total built up area of about 19,550 square meters on three levels with a land area of 175,000 square meters, more than 10,000 worshippers will be able to pray in this Mosque at the same time. The State Mosque has 28 large domes, in addition to 71 smaller ones surrounding the open courtyard, totaling 99 in all. Although those involved in the project said they were not given the reason for those many domes, an Islamic scholar yesterday said the relationship could be to the 99 names of Allah. HOW WILL THE 2022 WORLD CUP AFFECT RELIGION IN QATAR I think that the 2022 bid effected Qatar in many ways. For example, Qatar will make a lot of churches and Temples. “ The country will promote tolerance, benevolence constructive dialogue and openness toward other cultures in the context of its Arab and Islamic identity. Moreover, it will provide its citizens with their basic needs and guarantee them equal opportunities.” HH Sheikh Hamad Al Thani. This would be because the workers that are building the stadiums and the players coming won’t be Muslims, therefore they would need to make temples and churches for players and workers to pray in. This is another way on how Qatar is balancing religions. WOMEN REPRESENTATIVES “Qatar will also enhance its important and constructive regional role, especially within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Conference.” HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. In these Corporations I think that by 2022 there will probably be women representatives as they are on a good track of a great education.
