 以色列人因米甸人的緣故，極其窮乏，就呼求耶和華。
士師記六: 6
 Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried
out to the LORD for help.
Judges 6: 6
 因為我的百姓、做了兩件惡事、就是離棄我這活水的
泉源、為自己鑿出池子、是破裂不能存水的池子。
耶利米書 二: 13
 "My people have committed two sins: They have
forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug
their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold
water.
Jeremiah 2: 13
 耶和華觀看基甸，說：「你靠著你這能力去從米甸人
手裏拯救以色列人，不是我差遣你去的嗎？」
士師記六: 14
 The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength
you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I
not sending you?"
Judges 6: 14
 當那夜，耶和華吩咐基甸說：「你取你父親的牛來，
就是那七歲的第二隻牛，並拆毀你父親為巴力所築的
壇，砍下壇旁的木偶~
士師記六: 25
 That same night the LORD said to him, "Take the
second bull from your father's herd, the one seven
years old. Tear down your father's altar to Baal and cut
down the Asherah pole beside it.
Judges 6: 25
 若單是羊毛上有露水，別的地方都是乾的，我就知道
你必照著所說的話，藉我手拯救以色列人 。
士師記六: 37
 look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If
there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is
dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my
hand, as you said."
Judges 6: 37
 現在你要向這些人宣告說：『凡懼怕膽怯的，可以離
開基列山回去。』」於是有二萬二千人回去，只剩下
一萬。
士師記七: 3
 announce now to the people, 'Anyone who trembles
with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.' " So
twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand
remained.
Judges 7: 3
 於是用手捧著舔水的有三百人，其餘的都跪下喝水。
7耶和華對基甸說：「我要用這舔水的三百人拯救你們，
將米甸人交在你手中；其餘的人都可以各歸各處去。
士師記七: 6 ~ 7
 Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their
mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.
 The LORD said to Gideon, "With the three hundred
men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites
into your hands. Let all the other men go, each to his
own place."
Judges 7: 6~7
 基甸到了，就聽見一人將夢告訴同伴說：「我做了一
夢，夢見一個大麥餅滾入米甸營中，到了帳幕，將帳
幕撞倒，帳幕就翻轉傾覆了。」
士師記七: 13
 Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his
dream. "I had a dream," he was saying. "A round loaf of
barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp.
It struck the tent with such force that the tent
overturned and collapsed."
Judges 7: 13
 耶穌對他說、西門巴約拿、你是有福的．因為這不是
屬血肉的指示你的、乃是我在天上的父指示的。
 我還告訴你、你是彼得、我要把我的教會建造在這磐
石上．陰間的權柄、不能勝過他。
馬太十六: 17~ 18
 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for
this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father
in heaven.
 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will
build my church, and the gates of Hades will not
overcome it.
Matthew 16 : 17~18
 三隊的人就都吹角，打破瓶子，左手拿著火把，右手
拿著角，喊叫說：「耶和華和基甸的刀！」
士師記七: 20
 The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed
the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and
holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to
blow, they shouted, "A sword for the LORD and for
Gideon!"
