THE 5 FUNDAMENTAL THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY • • LOCATION Sheridan’s absolute location is about (44° N and 107° W). relative location - Sheridan is in the north central part of Wyoming, it is southeast of Billings, MT and northwest of Casper, WY. THE 5 FUNDAMENTAL THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY PLACE Sheridan is a small town with lots of trees. It has a main street with twostory buildings on each side and is home to the Historic Sheridan Inn. It also has the Big Horn Mountains in its landscape. THE 5 FUNDAMENTAL THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY Human-Environmental Interaction The people in Sheridan can fish, camp, ski, four-wheel, and hunt in the Big Horn Mountains. They eat a lot of beef because of all the cattle ranches in the area. They have built huge coalmines and also created the Tongue River Reservoir just north of Sheridan. Both of these have changed the landscape of this area. The people in Sheridan get products from all over the world delivered by trucks from Interstate 90. Sheridan is in the United States and in the NE part of the state of Wyoming. It is a part of the Rocky Mountain Region.
