Remembrance before eating:
‫ِب ْس ِم هللا‬
Bismillah
In the name of Allah.
and if you forget to say it before starting, then you should say
(when you remember):
ُ‫ِـره‬
َ ‫ِب ْس ِم هللاِ أَ َّولَ ُه َوآخ‬
Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirahu
In the name of Allah in it’s beginning and end.
After eating:
‫ا ْل َح ْمـ ُد هللِ الَّذي أَ ْط َع َمنـي هـذا َو َر َز َقنـي ِه مِنْ َغـ ْي ِر َح ْو ٍل ِم ِّني َو ال قُ َّو‬
Alhamdulillahil ladhi at 'amani hadha wa razaqanihi min
ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwah
All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me
without any might nor power from myself.

Remembrance on wearing a garment:

Alhamdulillahil ladhi kasani hadha wa razaqanihi min ghayri
hawlin minni wa la quwah
All Praise is for Allah who has clothed me with this garment
and provided it for me, with no power nor might from myself.
On undressing:
‫هللا‬

A ‘udhu billahil azhim, wa bi waj hihil karim, wa sultanihil qadimi
minash shaytanir rajim. Bismillahi was salatu was salamu ‘ala
rasulillah. Allahummaf tahli abwaba rahmatik
I take refuge with Allah, the Supreme and with His Noble Face, and His
eternal authority from the accursed devil. In the name of Allah, and
prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, open the
gates of Your mercy for me.
Remembrance on leaving the mosque:
َّ ‫ اللّ ُهـ َّم اعصِ ْمنـي مِنَ ال‬،‫ضـلِك‬
‫ـطان‬

Remembrance on entering the house:

Bismillahi walajna wa bismillahi kharajna wa 'ala rabbina

In the name of Allah we enter and in the name of Allah we
leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.
On leaving the house:
ُ ‫ِب ْس ِم هللاِ َت َو َّك ْل‬
‫ـت َعلى هللاِ َو ال َح ْول َ َو ال قُ َّـو َ إِ الّ ِباهلل‬
Bismillahi tawakkaltu 'alallah wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa
billah
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no
might nor power except with Allah.

Remembrance before entering the toilet:

Remembrance on riding a camel or any means of
transportation:
‫ َوإِ ّنا إِلى َر ِّبنا لَ ُمنـ َقلِبون‬،‫ـر لَنا هذا َوما ُك ّنا لَ ُه ُم ْق ِـرنين‬
َ ‫س َّخ‬
َ ‫سـ ْبحانَ الّذي‬
ُ ،‫ِب ْس ِـم هللاِ َوا ْل َح ْمـ ُد هلل‬
Bismillahi wal hamdulillah, subhanalladhi sakh khara lana
hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin wa inna ila rabbina
lamunqalibun
In the name of Allah and all praise is for Allah. How perfect He
is, the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service and
we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our
Lord is our final destiny.
When you reach your destination:
َ ْ‫ت مِن‬
ِ ‫هللا ال ّتـا ّما‬
ِ ‫أَعـو ُذ ِب َكلِـما‬
‫ـر ما َخلَـق‬
ِّ ‫ت‬
ِّ ‫ش‬
A ‘udhu bikalimatillahit tammati min sharri ma khalaq
I take refuge in Allah’s perfect words from the evil that He has
created.

Remembrance after any congregation:

‫توب إِلَـ ْيك‬
ُ َ‫ش َهـ ُد أَنْ ال إِل َه إِ الّ أَ ْن َت أَ ْس َت ْغفِ ُر َك َوأ‬

Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ash hadu alla ilaha illa
anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk
How perfect You are O Allah, and I praise You, I bear witness
that none has the right to be worshipped except You, I seek
Your forgiveness and turn in repentance to You.

Remembrance on entering the market:

َ ‫ِب َيـ ِد ِه ا ْل َخـ ْي ُر َو‬
La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharikalah, lahul mulku wa lahul
hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa hayyun la yamut, biyadihil
khayr, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay in qadir
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone,
without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise.
He gives life and causes death, and He is living and does not
die. In His hand is all good and He is over all things,
omnipotent.

When one of you sneezes he should say:

Alhamdulillah
All praise is for Allah.
…and his companion who hears it should say to him:

Yarhamukallah
May Allah have mercy upon you.
…and the one who sneezed replies back to him:

Yahdikumullahu wayuslihu balakum
May Allah guide you and rectify your condition.

Supplication said when it rains:

Allahumma sayyiban nafi ‘an
O Allah, may it be a beneficial rain cloud.
After rainfall:

Mutirna bifadlillahi wa rahmatihi
We have been given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah.
Asking for clear skies

‫ اللّ ُه َّم َعلى‬،‫اللّ ُه َّم َحوالَ ْينا َو ال َعلَ ْيـنا‬

Allahumma hawalayna wa la ‘alayna, allahumma ‘alal akami
waz zirab, wa butunil awdiyah, wa manabitish shajar
O Allah, let the rain fall around us and not upon us, O Allah,
(let it fall) on the pastures, hills, valleys and the roots of trees.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to say on the sick when
visiting him:

La ba’ sa tahurun insha Allah
Never mind, may it (the sickness) be a purification, if Allah
wills.

O Allah, I ask You for it’s goodness, the good within it, and the
good it was sent with, and I take refuge with You from it’s evil,
the evil within it, and from the evil it was sent with.

Supplication on Adhan:
Repeat silently after what the muadh-dhin is saying except for the parts:
“Hayya ‘alas salah” and “Hayya ‘alal falah” which you should say:

muhammadanil wasilata wal fadilata wab ‘ath hu maqamam
mahmudanil ladhi wa ‘adtah, innaka la tukhliful mi ‘ad
O Allah, Owner of this perfect call and Owner of this prayer to be
performed, bestow upon Muhammad al-waseelah and al-fadeelah and
send him upon a praised platform which You have promised him.
Verily, You never fail in Your promise.
al-waseelah: A station in paradise.
al-fadeelah: A rank above the rest of creation.

When starting ablution:

Upon completing the ablution:

Ash hadu alla ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharikalah, wa ash hadu
anna muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluh. Allahummaj ‘alni minat
tawwabina waj ‘alni minal muta tahhirin.
I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah,
alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His
slave and Messenger. O Allah, make me of those who return to You
often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and
pure.

saliheen. Ash hadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ashhadu anna muhammadan
‘abduhu warasuluh. Allahumma salli ‘ala muhammad, wa ‘ala ali
muhammad, kama sallayta ‘ala ibrahim wa ‘ala ali Ibrahim, innaka
hamidun majid, allahumma barik ‘ala muhammad, wa ‘ala ali
muhammad, kama barakta ‘ala ibrahima wa ‘ala ali ibraheem, innaka
hamidun majid
At-tahiyyat is for Allah. All acts of worship and good deeds are for Him. Peace and the mercy and blessings
of Allah be upon you O Prophet. Peace be upon us and all of Allah’s righteous servants. I bear witness that
none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and
Messenger. ‘O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the followers of Muhammad, just as You sent
prayers upon Ibraheem and upon the followers of Ibraheem. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty. O
Allah, send blessings upon Mohammad and upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings upon
Ibraheem and upon the family of Ibraheem. Verily, You are full of praise and majesty.’
send prayers: praise and exalt him in the highest and superior of gatherings: that of the closest angels to
Allah.
At-tahiyyat: all words which indicate the glorification of Allah. His eternal existence, His perfection and
His sovereignty.

Taslim:

Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullah
May the peace and mercy of Allah be with you.
Don’t forget to say the takbir “‫ هللا أكبر‬/ Allahu akbar )Allah is the greatest(”
on every movement except for the i’tidal and taslim.
The most important thing to read in salah is the Surah Al-Fatihah. Recite
the Surah Al-Fatihah carefully and other chapters you have memorized.

ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharikalah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘ala
kulli shay-in qadir. Allahumma la mani’a lima a’tayta, wa la mu’tiya lima mana’ta,
wa la yanfa’u dhal jaddi minkal jad. La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharikalah, lahul
mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadir. La hawla wa la quwata illa
billah. La ilaha illallahu, wa la na’budu illa iyah. lahun ni’matu wa lahul fadlu wa
lahuth thana-ul hasan. La ilaha illallahu, mukhlisina lahud dina wa law karihal
kafirun
O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour. None has the right

prayer. The following three chapters should be recited once after Zhuhr, ‘Asr
and ‘Isha prayers and thrice after Fajr and Maghrib: Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah AlFalaq and Surah An-Nas.

َ ‫يء عِ ْنـدَ هُ ِبأ َ َج ٍل ُم‬
Innal lillahi ma akhadha, wa lahu ma a’ta, wa kullu shay in
‘indahu bi ajalin musamma. Fal tasbir wal tahtasib.
Verily to Allah, belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave,
and everything with Him has an appointed time. Therefore, be patientand
hope for Allah’s reward.

Rabbi zidni ‘ilma.
O my Lord ! increase me in knowledge.
83:‫صالِحِينَ (( سرو الشعراء‬
َّ ‫َب لِي ُح ْك ًما َوأَ ْل ِح ْقنِي ِبال‬
ْ ‫)) َر ِّب ه‬
Rabbi hab li hukma, wa alhiqni bis salihin.
O my Lord! bestow wisdom on me, and join me with the righteous.

Rabbish rahli sadri, wa yassir li amri, wahlul ‘uqdatam mil
lisani, yafqahu qawli.
O my Lord! Expand me my breast. Ease my task for me. And loose the knot
from my tongue. So they may understand what I say.
