Burn Medicine
Katniss received burn medicine
after she climbed up into the
tree to get away from the
Careers and Peeta. She found it
on her sleeping bag after she
saw Rue pointing to the Tracker
Jacker nest. She uses it
immediately to soothe the
throbbing burns. It works like
magic and Katniss realizes it is
high-tech medicine brewed up
in the Capitol’s labs.
Bread from District 11
Katniss received the
bread from District 11
after she gave a
respectful farewell to
Rue. She honored Rue
by showing her the
Silent Salute and then
the bread floated
down to her. She ate it
that day and it gave her
strength to find Peeta.
Pot of Broth
Katniss received the
pot of broth from
Haymitch after she and
Peeta had their first
kiss. She realized that
she needed to “ramp
up” the romance to
keep them alive. She
fed the broth to Peeta,
hoping it would take
away his fever.
Sleep Syrup
Katniss received the
sleep syrup while she
was outside the cave
working on making
soup for Peeta. She
mixed it with berries
and gave it to Peeta to
knock him out so she
could go to the
Cornucopia for her
backpack.
Back-pack with anti-biotic
Katniss got the
backpack when she
went to the “feast” at
the Cornucopia. Clove
attacked her and she
almost was killed, but
Thresh rescued her.
She ran back and
plunged the syringe
into Peeta’s arm just
before passing out.
Lamb stew/cheese/food
Katniss received the lamb
stew after she and Peeta
talked about how he fell
in love with her when she
was only 5. She makes it
look like she is in love
with him too and as they
kiss, the stew comes down
outside the cave. It helps
them gain strength for the
final battle.
