Today is Read Across America, an
annual project of the National
Education Association , which began
in 1997. Its purpose is to motivate
kids to read and to spotlight the
importance of reading. Read Across
America Day, the annual celebration
of reading! This even takes place on
Dr. Seuss's birthday, which is March
2nd.
Congratulations to Kamren
Gilbard for being the DAR’s State
Winner for the Christopher
Columbus essay contest. Kamren’s
essay will now go to the national
judging arena. Congratulations to
her and APUSH teacher Mrs.

The Arizona Alpha Nu chapter of
Alpha Delta Kappa, International
Sorority of Women Educators, is
undertaking a charitable project of
donating gently used purses to a
women’s shelter in the Phoenix
area. If you have a gently used
purse that you would be willing
to …
…donate, please send it to Mrs.
Preising rm D-210. Donations will be
accepted until March 6th. Thank you
for helping with this worthwhile
project. Many of these women have
nothing to call their own when they
arrive at these shelters. This is once
sense of normality that we are trying
to restore.
Attention Seniors:
A mandatory meeting regarding
graduation speech auditions will
be held March 17th and 18th in
room D-113 before school and
during lunches (4th and 5th).
