Roman vs. Byzantine Empire


 While Roman Empire used military for offence,
Byzantines developed defensive way of battle.
Goverment

 In both Empires the emperor held all power with the
senate only an advisory institution.
Ruling parts of empire

 Roman Empire was divided into provinces which
were political, but Byzantine Empire was divided
into themes which were based according to which
area which army occupied.
Religion

 While old romans believed in many gods, Byzantines
already accepted Christianity.
