A resume is a factual representation of
your skills, abilities, background
Your resume should highlight any of
your qualifications/skills related to job
openings
Chronological resumes are preferred by
most Employers
Recruiters spend AT MOST 20-30
seconds reviewing a resume






Font styles - Arial, Times New Roman, or Calibri
Font sizes between10-12 (Name can be larger)
Margins should be .8 - 1.0” wide
CAPS, bolding, underlining and bullets
make it easier to read
Print on cotton bond paper (white or crème)
One page only, unless you have significant previous
experience; then two pages at most
Remember recruiters spend between 20- 30 seconds
on any given resume!







Include keywords found in job openings
Do not use the words me, my or I
Use short phrases beginning with action words
Periods are not needed
Do not use acronyms (ie: BBA)
Make sure you use correct grammar, tenses and
spelling
Use spell check and have someone else review it
before you turn it in
Your resume MUST be submitted in the CSPD
format and will be graded according to the
Resume Grading Rubric:
