The Berghof Foundation is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to supporting efforts for achieving sustainable peace through research, practice and education, complementing them with targeted strategic grant-making. The Berghof Foundation’s Dialogue, Mediation and Peace Support Structures Programme aims to contribute to the design of innovative dialogue and mediation formats, to assist conflict actors in negotiations and to help establish functional peace support structures. In addition to practical support and policy advice, the programme strives to develop and refine concepts related to National Dialogue, Insider Peacebuilders/Mediators or Peace Infrastructures and provides cross-cutting expertise to various activities in the Berghof Foundation’s regional programmes. One major corner stone of the programmes activities centers on capacity building for conflict stakeholders, including resistance and liberation movements (RLMs). We are looking for a Project Manager/Project Officer (100%) for a period of 24 months Main Tasks In coordination with the Programme Director and Programme Managers, the Project Manager or Project Officer is expected to provide project related support to the Action research Project “Governance and Insider Peacebuilders in societies in transition from war to peace” to coordinate activities related to the EU framework contract on conflict prevention and mediation support to the EU to do background research on topics related to the overarching subject of Mediation Support to liaise with project partners and donors to assist in writing concept notes & proposals to guide the work of the programme officer/intern to develop graphic visuals, presentations and training materials to contribute to the interim and final reports of the project team as well as policy papers and other publications. to ensure proper documentation/archiving to provide administrative and logistical support Qualifications M.A. degree in a relevant field, such as peace and conflict studies, international relations , law or political science Excellent verbal and written language skills in English.
