INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEW AGREEMENT WITH BOSTAD DIREKT
REGARDING SECOND HAND LEASING
KI Housing AB has entered an agreement with Bostad Direkt regarding the mediation of subleased
housing for guest researchers, coworkers, international visitors etc.
The agreement enables all institutions and units of KI to use these services. The institution/unit is always
the one that places the order with Bostad Direkt and will also receive the invoice for the mediation fee. All
KI institutions and units receive a special discount on this fee. All contracts are made directly via KI
Housing and the landlord and all further contact and rental payments are made directly between the
tenant and the landlord.
A short summary of the service procedure follows;
1. The institution/unit registers a search order via www.bostaddirekt.com or sends an e-mail to
info@bostaddirekt.com. It’s important to specify the requirements of the residence, moving in
dates, the reference at KI (ZZ…) as well as the name of the person that will live in the
residence (the resident). You can also call Bostad Direkt in order to register via phone (0771282820). After the registration is completed you will receive an e-mail confirmation for the
search order. This confirmation contains Bostad Direkt’s non discounted prices – please
disregard these as you will be invoiced according to the list below.
2. One of Bostad Direkt’s residential agents will contact you or the resident depending on which
you prefer. The general constraints of the search order are discussed and you will be presented
with a selection of available residences. You can also suggest objects that you would like to
view yourselves via the Bostad Direkt website.
3. Once a match has been found, Bostad Direkt will schedule a viewing for you. Normally you
only get one viewing booked at a time (a total maximum of 3 consecutive bookings). You
attend the viewing yourself and meet the landlord. You must inform Bostad Direkt soon after
the viewing if you wish to proceed with the lease or not. If you do not proceed this step is
repeated and new viewings are scheduled. If you opt to proceed with the lease and agree on
the lease terms, Bostad Direkt will draw up a contract for the lease between the landlord and
KI Housing AB.

4. All contracts are signed by KI Housing AB. The contract is made between KI Housing AB
(with a specific resident) and the landlord. The contract will also contain the ordering
Institution/unit as well as a contact person. The resident has an internal agreement with KI
Housing AB regarding the rules and policies for the lease. A template for this agreement is
mailed out with the contract and should be returned to KI Housing (info@kihousing.se) after
being signed by the resident.
5. Any transfer of keys, surveys, cleaning, rent payments and deposits are made between the
landlord and resident directly.

Registering a search order is free of charge.
Once Bostad Direkt has located an object matching your criteria and drawn up a contract that both you
and the landlord approves verbally or by signing it you will be charged a mediation fee;

The first extension of a contract is free of charge. Subsequent extensions cost 3400 SEK in mediation
and contract fees. All contracts can be made either in Swedish or English.
Bostad Direkt sends all invoices to Karolinska Institutet Fakturor with the reference supplied during
registration (ZZ…).
