The three principle partners in the axis
alliance were Germany, Italy, and Japan

There was German hegemony over
most of Continental Europe

Japan…Hungry, Romania, and Bulgaria
were also members of the Axis powers
 September 27, 1940 Germany, Italy, and
Japan signed the Tripartite Pact, uniting
these countries as the Axis leaders


8, 1943, then Bulgaria one year later
 Romania leaves Axis powers August 23,
1944
 Hungary NEVER surrendered
 On May 7, 1945, seven days after
Hitler’s suicide, Nazi Germany
surrendered

