Enrolled Not in Residence (ENR) 2. Academic Leave of Absence (ALOA) ENR programs Oberlin-in-London Two Oberlin faculty and ~25 Oberlin students Spring semester only Application deadline in March Spring 2015 program features Gina Perez (Comparative American Studies) and Baron Pineda (Anthropology); Spring 2016 – Anu Needham (English) and Steve Volk (History) OC tuition, room and board. Some additional support for financial aid students PRESHCO - Programa de Estudios Hispánicos en Córdoba (Spain) Fall, Spring or full year Four semesters or equivalent of Spanish Application deadline once each semester Application and Information through Hispanic Studies department OC tuition, room and board – costs include support for airfare, excursions, food, books Academic Leave of Absence (ALOA) 1. 2. 3. March 15, 2015 ALOA Application • • • Information about you and your progress toward graduation Essay and advisor approval Justification for fall or spring request Once you have selected a program, you will submit: • Preliminary transfer of credit forms • Waiver form for international programs • Insurance verification Transfer of Credit Information • • • • • • Must be enrolled as a full-time student as defined by the program ALOA semester = 4 courses/16 credits One CD course counts from ALOA if taken abroad or on certain US programs Courses may count toward major but not toward curriculum distribution ALOA courses do not count toward 3 course/12 credit transfer limit Credits transfer but grades do not Affiliated Programs • • • Have been approved by Oberlin department or program and the Off-Campus Study Committee Oberlin financial aid/scholarship and federal aid will apply if qualified Includes GLCA-recognized programs Non-affiliated programs • • • Not specifically approved by an Oberlin department or program Only Federal financial aid will apply to the program cost if qualified Approval for ALOA and transfer of credit may be more difficult Financing Study Away • • • • • • • Generally, family contribution is still expected. On ENR semester programs (London and PRESHCO) tuition and fees apply. Oberlin tuition is charged for other programs. Room and board charges are determined by the program fees. Consortial and Oberlin Affiliated programs allow Oberlin and Federal aid to apply to tuition for the semester. Non-affiliated programs allow federal aid to apply if student qualifies.
