male students were taunting each other over a previous issue. This resulted in
one of them getting provoked – Ohmz Vlennson G. Madula. He allegedly
attempted to throw a steel chair at his classmate, James B. Dando. However,
the chair did not hit the latter and instead went to the windows. This resulted in
the breakage of five jalousie blades, and the incident led to a minor commotion
between the learners of Grade 9 Emerald and their neighboring sections.
The incident prompted the attention of Mr. Clyde Paurnia, Teacher, who was,
at that time, having a hands-on activity with the Carpentry students of Grade 9
Amber. Hence, he immediately went to check what had happened. After
knowing the incident, he confronted both James B. Dando and Ohmz Vlenson
G. Madula, where the latter answered him with “bayaran ko ra man sir”.
Accordingly, the response did not sit well with him, resulting in him hitting
Ohmz’ chin and his back a couple of times.
Upon knowing the incident, the mother, Mrs. Teresa Madula, together with her
son, Ohmz, went to talk to Mr. Paurnia about it. They had some clarifications,
and accordingly, both parties apologized for what had happened. However, at
around 1 p.m. on the same day, Mr. Rosilo Madula, the father, went to the
school to talk with the School Principal and Mr. Paurnia. Nevertheless, the
supposed dialogue did not happen that time due to Mr. Nimes’ official
commitment at the district office.
ACTION TAKEN:
1. On August 12, 2025, Mr. Rosilo Madula, Mrs. Teresa Madula, and Mr. Clyde Paurnia
had a dialogue with the School Principal, Mr. Victornio S. Nimes, at his office. Mr.
Nimes let both parties air their side.
2. First, it was Mr. Paurnia who explained his side, admitting his lapses and apologizing
for his actions. He narrated what had happened and cited the reasons causing his
impulse.
3. After Mr. Paurnia, Mr. Nimes let Mr. Rosilo Madula and Mrs. Teresa Madula air their
sides. Accordingly, they are very much open to having teachers discipline their son,
but not to the extent of inflicting physical harm. Mr. Madula said that he understood
and knew that his son was partly wrong in that situation. He also acknowledged that
discipline is good for the betterment of their son, but cited that punching or hitting his
son or any learner should not be part of it. Mr. Madula went on saying that he accepted
Mr. Paurnia’s apology. However, he said that the case must be brought to the attention
of the Barangay Council for a settlement agreement.
