We us water in our houses for cooking, bathing and washing the dishes. Water
is used to grow food. In many dry areas farmers must bring water to the fields
through canals and expensive irrigation systems.
The fresh water used in communities comes from rivers, lakes, brooks, springs,
streams and ground water. A continuous supply of fresh water is sustained
through the water cycle. But it is important to note that the usable freshwater is
not evenly distributed on earth.
