teachers who desire to show sinners how to be
born again and having their sins forgiven, and the
righteousness of God imparted into them, and to
those who desire genuine salvation from sin with
clear evidence.

Introduction
Many people do not know the scriptural experience
of Born again. Many commonize it saying, they are
born again already, while in reality they are not born
again. This book explains what is meant by 'you
must be born again' as declared by Jesus Christ.
The book gives a full and clear meaning of born
again by employing the meaning of some biblical
terms with similar meaning such as salvation,
justification, reconciliation, regeneration, adoption
and new creation. We believe that whosoever is not
yet born again will get this practical experience by
reading this book.
This also outlined steps to follow in order to be born
again. This book can be read by an adult of advance
age and a child of accountable age. Emphasis in this
book is on the life of righteousness which
characterizes the person who is born again.
2 Corinthians 5:17.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.
It is clear in this book that water baptism rite
performed on a sinner does not make him born again.
Water baptism can only be carried out on a person

who is already born again to attest to his salvation
through faith in Christ.
Acts 8:35-38.
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the
same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a
certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is
water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine
heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I

CHAPTER ONE.
THE CONVERSATIONS OF JESUS AND
NICODEMUS
John 3:1-8
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said
unto Him, Rabbi, we know that Thou art a
Teacher come from God: for no man can do
these miracles that Thou doest, except God
be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a
man be born when he is old? Can he enter
the second time into his mother's womb,
and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born of water and of

the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom
of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must
be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and
thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst
not tell whence it cometh, and whither it
goeth: so is every one that is born of the
Spirit.
1.1 Nicodemus went to Jesus by Night.
This was the conversation that went on between
Jesus and Nicodemus. Nicodemus had been one of
the leaders of the Jews. He came to Jesus in the night
because of the controversy people had over Jesus. He
came in the night to avoid human criticism. He
avoided being seen because people would accuse
him, and desert him, especially the Pharisees, since
he was one of them in the authority. However, there
was a conviction they had. See it in verse two of the
above scripture. “The same came to Jesus by night

and said unto him, Rabbi we know that Thou art a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these
miracles that thou doest except God be with him.”
Did they know this? Why were they fighting Jesus?
Why didn't they come naturally to receive the truth?
Jesus is the Truth, and the Saviour of men. Why were
they fighting Him? This is a question they could not
answer. Jesus answered Nicodemus and said unto
him; Verily, verily (which means truly, truly;
sincerely, sincerely) except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God.”
1.2 Knowledge And Testimony Are Not Enough.
Something must happen in you because knowledge
and testimony are not enough. As of knowledge, you
have this knowledge but something in you is fighting
this knowledge. A power in you is conquering this
knowledge; pride in you will not allow you to submit
and come to Jesus for your salvation. There is
something in you that is resisting the truth! What is
that thing which hindered them, that though they
could see and know, they could not submit and
surrender? The power of sin in their lives was the

hindrance. That is why Jesus said that something else
must happen in your life to overcome that thing
inside of you else you will be doomed.
Having the knowledge of God and studying the
Bible is not enough. Attending church services to
listen to sermons is not enough because it has not
produced a change in your life. It has not helped you
to abstain from sin. Prayer, as good as it is, has not
changed you. All the prayers of your life have not
broken the power of sin in you to stop you from
doing evil. Maybe, it only helped you to reduce your
sins, or it aided you to go into sinning secretly, but
you are still controlled by sin.
1.3 The Sinfulness of Mankind.
Romans 7:14-25
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but
I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what
I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that
do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I

consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin
that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is
present with me; but how to perform that
which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more
I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do
good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the
inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members,
warring against the law of my mind, and
bringing me into captivity to the law of sin
which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall
deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our

Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve
the law of God; but with the flesh the law of
sin.
“We know that thou art a teacher come from God.”
You know that the word of God is spiritual, but you
cannot do it. You know but you are not coming up for
it. You know that Holiness Movement has the truth,
but you cannot submit and go there. Something is
inhibiting you. That is what the scripture above is
saying “You are carnal, and sold under sin.” You are
under an authority. It is likened to a woman who
knows that God is in this place, but says she cannot
come because her husband commands her not to
come. It is also like a child who knows that God is
with this man, but says “I cannot attend his crusade
because my parents have commanded me not to be
there.”
In the same way, you know the truth but cannot do it
because a power in you has hindered you not to yield.
It is not allowing you to yield. It is not allowing you
to do good, to live well, to accept the right principles
that you know should guide you. See how the

scripture puts it in verse fourteen above: “I am
carnal, I am under the flesh, my flesh is stronger than
me and it pushes me to sin. It pushes me off the part
of God. My mind rejects the meditation on God and
decision to serve Him.”
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what
I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that
do I.
The scripture above is explaining the miserable life
of men on earth. The expression of the man here is
thus: “The life I am living, I do not agree with it. I am
not willingly living it. For that which I want to do; the
life I want to live, I am not able to live it. I want to live
the good life I know I should. But that which I hate, I
see myself doing it. This immoral sexual life I am
living, you may not know how I feel against it, I cry.
This masturbation I find myself doing, I cry against
it. Even this alcohol, I know it is not good, it is not
that I like it, I hate it. But I just find myself doing it
over and over again. I want to stop lying, but it seems
lie comes by itself through me. Before I realise it, lies
have come out of me. I hate lying, I know it is

degrading me. It is making people not to trust me;
even when I speak the truth, because they have
known me with lies, no one believes me anymore. I
want to stop it, but I cannot.
They knew that Jesus is the teacher come from God
but how can they stop attacking him? They
continued to attack Him, even with all the miracles
which they knew that only God can work out. Their
hearts were fighting God.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I
consent unto the law that it is good.
If I am doing what I do not want because I know these
things themselves are evil, it means they are not good
to be done to a man or woman. Why should I
impregnate a girl that is growing up under her
parents and stop her education? What have I gained?
I know this thing is foolishness and wickedness but
how do I stop it? Why did you poison a man to make
him become blind? What have you gained to make a
man blind? What have you gained to put sickness
into the body of a man or to kill his son? What did

you gain? You know that these things are
wickedness, and they are bad; you want to stop them,
but you do not know how to stop evil.
If you know that what you are doing is evil, then the
word of God is correct. If you know that this
preaching you receive is true, then why are you
hating it? You should ask yourself, ‘Why am I hating
this man for his preaching?’ He preached against
you? Yes, but what you are doing, is it right? Should
he not tell you that what you are doing is evil? Why
are you planning evil against him? Why do you want
to stop him? You know that the word of God is true
but there is a power in your life; a bad, dirty, evil and
satanic power is inside of you, pulling you in the
direction of wicked life.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin
that dwelleth in me.
The real you is not interested to do evil, but an
authority is in you commanding you to do it; that is
sin in you. Sin is in man commanding him to reply in
that way and attack others, although he knows they

have not done anything wrong. Sin in man tells him
to accuse others and fight them. Sin in man is what
controls him to behave in that way. An evil spirit is
inside of some people commanding them to go and
steal and tell lies to people. You are not willingly
doing these things because as for you, you know
these things are bad to do, but you find yourself
under captivity and in prison against your wish. You
wish to have gone to the farm, school or work but you
find yourself inside the prison. In fact they had
announced that there would be a special occasion in
the city. You wish you could attend it, since you
heard about it, but you are inside the prison. This is
your situation! The real you wants to do something
good, but sin is in you. Satan in your life does not
allow you to do good.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my
flesh) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is
present with me; but how to perform that
which is good I find not.
Examining this scripture above, you have agreed that
as we see you now, you are a bundle of an evil man,

because nothing good is inside of you. You are
willing to do righteousness but as you open your
mouth to speak the truth, lies come out of your
mouth. You had wanted to say yes, but you found
yourself saying no. You begin to wonder and ask
yourself, “Why am I lying?' You could have told the
truth in the question you were asked, but why did you
have to lie? Would they have killed you? You have
come to see that nothing good is in you and this is a
principle that has been working every day in your
life. It has been happening for so many years now.
You see yourself that you cannot do anything in
holiness and righteousness.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but
the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more
I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do
good, evil is present with me.

CHAPTER TWO
GOD DESIRES TRUTH FROM YOUR HEART.
Looking at the sinfulness of man expressed in the
scripture, why will you not accept that you are a
sinner? Why are you pretending? Did you not know
yourself? That pretence in your life is the reason why
you are still a sinner. You die a sinner and go to hell, if
you do not repent. God desires truth from your heart.
Study the following scriptures and practice them.
2.1 Acknowledge and confess that you are a
sinner
Come to Jesus, acknowledge and confess that you
are a sinner. Look at what David did to get
forgiveness.
Psalms 51:1-3
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according
to thy lovingkindness: according unto the
multitude of Thy tender mercies blot out my

transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions:
and my sin is ever before me.
Here, we can see that David acknowledged his
transgression. Why are you not accepting your sins?
That is why you remain a sinner and unsaved. You
are not acknowledging your sin, you are not
accepting, and rather, you cover it up. Go to God and
uncover your sins. Plead with Him to show you
mercy and forgive your sins. Request for a change of
life from Him.
2.2 Covering your sins hinders your Prosperity in
a Christian way
The Bible says that he who covers his sins, shall not
prosper. This is the reason you have not enjoyed true
freedom from sin. You are covering your sins and
dying away. You must acknowledge that you are a
sinner desiring to get God's forgiveness. Do not
praise yourself, so long as sin is in your life. Do not
say you have tried. When you sit for an examination

and the pass mark is fifty percent, if you score fortyfive percent and you are praising yourself that you
have tried, does that mean you passed that exam?
Why are you congratulating yourself under failure?
Did you pass? That is your problem. You praise
yourself and have not allowed your heart to be
grieved by the one failure in your life. If you keep
ninety nine percent and fail in one percent, you are
guilty of all.
James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of
all.
You are not concerned about your failures that is why
you remain in your sins. The moment you come to
acknowledge your sins, confess and forsake them,
something new will happen in your life: you will be
in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a

behold, all things are become new.
Psalms 32:3-5
3. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long.
4. For day and night Thy hand was heavy
upon me: my moisture is turned into the
drought of summer.
What the Psalmist is saying here is that when he was
quiet on his sinful life, he did not have rest. His throat
and body were dry. His bones were making noise
because there was no rest within him. He could not
sleep well when he thought of God's judgement and
the consequences coming up against him because of
his sins. How could he rest?
Instead of repenting, you begin to tell more lies to
cover your sins. How do you think you will recover
yourself? Then the psalmist says:
5. I acknowledge my sin unto Thee, and
mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will
confess my transgressions unto the LORD;
and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.

It was as he acknowledged that he was a sinner and
confessed it that God forgave him. Unless you agree
that you are a sinner engaged in lusting after women,
committing masturbation, taking alcohol, and doing
all manners of evil, you will not be forgiven. Stop
pretending, acknowledge your sins and cry to God
for forgiveness and you will be forgiven.
1 John 1:8,9
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
2.3 Follow the Principles of Righteousness
God is waiting for you, otherwise all your years in
church are wasted. If you remain in that way, get
ready for hell, even from the church because you are
not original and true. You are not following the
principles of righteousness and the pathway of God.
Do not ever console yourself by saying you have
tried. Do not forget that it is God that forgives. When

you come before your Pastor, instead of telling him
the real thing about yourself, you will say, ‘Pastor I
dreamt that so and so happened.’ Why are you saying
so? Was that act a dream? Why then are you saying it
was a dream? Why do you come to twist the story in
another way? Is it the pastor that will forgive you?
Leave that to the unbelieving Churches. Real
forgiveness comes from God and God knows the
heart. God knows the heart of every one.
Jeremiah 17:9, 10
9 The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the
reins, even to give every man according to
his ways, and according to the fruit of his
doings.
2.4 It is Not Optional to Be Born Again
Now, having known the truth, the sum total is what
Jesus told Nicodemus; “you must be born again.” It
is only being born again that will give you victory
over that problem. So long as sin is in your life, (that

is, you are still a thief, a liar, or immoral, going after
harlots, committing fornication, adultery and all
manners of immorality) you are not born again. If
you are still practising witchcraft, collecting charms,
and ready to fight, you are not born again. That is
what the word of God says.
Even though you have known Jesus and believe that
the miracles He wrought are from God, you are still
like that (living in sin) because there is a power
working in you. The only way of escape for you is
that you should be born again. It is a must for you to
be born again, it is not optional, Nicodemus.
He that is born of flesh is flesh until he dies. All who
are born by union of a man and woman are sinners.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of
God. No matter how much you stretch your hands, it
will not reach where God is because you are a sinner.
It is like a child stretching his hand earnestly to touch
a mango fruit hanging over him to see whether he can
pluck it, but cannot reach it. You cannot reach God or
come close to where He is because you have come
short of His glory. You cannot reach God because
you are not yet born again, you are a sinner.

Jeremiah 23:23-24
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD,
and not a God afar off?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places
that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do
not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
James 4:8
Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and
purify your hearts, ye double minded.
2.5 Church Activities And Spiritual Exercises
without Holiness and Righteousness Cannot Take
to Heaven
Now, to get sin out of your life, you must be born
again, otherwise you will do all church activities and
remain the same; for he that is born of the flesh is
flesh. Do people not go to church and still remain
unsaved? Has anybody been delivered from
witchcraft because he is an elder in a church? Have
you heard that a person stopped immorality and
abortion because she is in the choir? It does not work

that way.
Have you heard that a person who read the Bible
from the beginning to the end several times became
born again because of his reading and his sins just got
forgiven? He that is born of the flesh is flesh. All your
struggles will not work, it will end up reducing some
sins you commit or you will start hiding to do them.
You must be born again.
2 Corinthians 5:17, 18.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath
reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation;

CHAPTER THREE
FORGIVENESS OF SINS
3.1 Remission of sin and Born Again
The following are Scriptural meanings of being Born
Again. Born again means that your sins have been
forgiven by God because you have received Jesus as
your Lord and Saviour, with repentance from sin.
Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in His name among all
nations, beginning at Jerusalem.’
Remission of sin means forgiveness of sins. Remit
here also means cleansing of sin away from you.
That is what the scriptures mean here by, you must be
born again.
Born again means to come to Jesus in your sins and
ask Him to show you mercy, to save you, to forgive
you and give you a new life. What will Jesus do? He

will say to you as He said to that woman “Your sins
are forgiven you.” He will say to you as He said to
that paralytic man, “Man your sins have been
forgiven.” He will say to you as He said to the
woman caught in adultery, “Woman, neither do I
condemn thee, go and sin no more.” Jesus will
forgive you for the things you have done. The power
of God will come into you and remove your sins. The
power of God will come into you and keep you in
righteousness. This is the meaning of forgiveness of
sins.
3.2 Go And Sin No More
John 8:3,10,11
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought
unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and
when they had set her in the midst,
10 When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and
saw none but the woman, He said unto her,
Woman, where are those thine accusers?
hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said
unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go,

and sin no more.
If you say that your sins have been forgiven, it means
that you have forsaken the sins; you are not
committing sins anymore. Some come with their
idols on their faces and say they have come to seek
God. Sin is still in their lives and they say they are
worshipping God. What makes you a child of God
when sin is still in your life? Do you remember what
you did in the night before you woke up? How are
you a child of God with sin in your life? Do you
remember the evil conversation you had with your
friends? Then, how are you a child of God?
Forgiveness of sins means you have been pardoned
and are not committing sin again. If a child who stole
a piece of meat from the pot feels guilty, then came to
the mother to say; 'Mother, I did a bad thing, I took a
piece of meat from the pot, please forgive me'. What
does the child mean? Does he mean the mother
should forgive him for this stealing because he is
coming back again to steal? Is that what that child is
saying and asking the mother to do for him? Is the
child saying; “Mother, I really do not know how
many times I will steal from the pot, but I just want to

come and tell you that I have begun? I have done the
first stealing and I am asking you to forgive the first
stealing.' Is that what the child is saying? The child
instead is saying, Mother, I am sorry for what I did; it
is not a thing I should do. Forgive me and I will do it
no more. That is what you mean when you come to
God and say He should forgive you. Asking God for
forgiveness means you regret doing the evil and
promise never to repeat it in your life.
Romans 6:1,2
1 What shall we say then? Shall we
continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to
sin, live any longer therein?
3.3 Do Not Abuse the Mercy of God
A story was told about the catholic church of those
days when they were selling indulgence and
forgiveness of sins. They needed money, so they will
wrap something called, “Forgiveness of sins,” and
went about selling it. They asked those who had
committed sin to buy it and their sins would be

forgiven. The Pope automatically forgive the sins of
whoever bought it. Some armed robbers then came
and said they had not yet sinned, but they are
planning to do so. They requested if they could also
buy the “Forgiveness of sins?” They were allowed to
buy, since every sin could be forgiven by the Pope,
once you buy it.
Romans 10:1-3
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to
God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a
zeal of God, but not according to
knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's
righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not
submitted themselves unto the
righteousness of God.

Acts 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from
darkness to light, and from the power of
Satan unto God, that they may receive
forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among
them which are sanctified by faith that is in
Me.
You can see here that these people were in darkness
and under the power of Satan. Some may have been
witches and wizards, in the marine kingdom,
collecting satanic power; some going out in night
meetings in the flesh or in the spirit, drinking blood
and killing human beings, belonging to secret
societies and so on. They were in darkness. Some are
agents of Satan whom he uses against mankind to
affect the course of God. They were all under the
power of Satan.
Now, if they want forgiveness of sins, how would
they get it? It is to turn them from darkness to light.
You must make up your mind to turn away from that
sin first. Make up your mind to turn away from
witchcraft, otherwise how will you receive

forgiveness of sins? Is it so that you will continue in
witchcraft? No, that will not happen.
Turn away from the power of Satan, marine kingdom
and its powers: carrying charms about and using
them for success, to destroy people, and to fly. Turn
from the power of Satan unto God, then your sins
will be forgiven. It means that you will not do those
things again. Else, why will God waste forgiveness
on someone who is not ready to repent but still going
out to commit more sins, saying “Give me
indulgence because I am still going out to commit
sin; give me forgiveness so that I will have it in my
hand because I still have more sins to commit. I have
not yet finished with that girl, just give me some time
and tell me that my sins have been forgiven already. I
still need to get money from that man because I am
not through with him yet.”
Is that Christianity? However, this is what some
people consider to be Christianity and they say they
are children of God. Can you be a child of God in
witchcraft, marine practice and idol worshipping?
Are you a Christian with those charms in your

possession? No, you are not a Bible Christian.
Remember that man in the scriptures who said, “I
want to do good but something is in me that is
hindering me.” As for you, there may be an evil spirit
inside of you resisting you. So long as you refuse to
confess, you will not prosper in Christianity, you will
never see righteousness and holiness, and you will
never see the kingdom of God. You are not original
because you have not arrived at the point where your
sins should be forgiven. Turn away from darkness to
light. You must confess and forsake your evil deeds.
Acts 19:18-20
18 And this was known to all the Jews and
Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear
fell on them all, and the name of the Lord
Jesus was magnified.
Act 19:18 And many that believed came,
and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
19 Many of them also which used curious
arts brought their books together, and
burned them before all men: and they
counted the price of them, and found it fifty

thousand pieces of silver.
20 So mightily grew the word of God and
prevailed.
Here, they had been turned from darkness unto light.
By the preaching, they had been turned from the
power of Satan unto God. All those charms and idols
bought with great money were buried. Those charms
and idols you carry about are blocking you from
reaching to God. Confess and remove them, and let
them be burnt so that you can be delivered.
20. So mightily grew the word of God and
prevailed.
The word of God will now grow in your life and
overcome all those spirits. He that hides his sins shall
not prosper. Now, we can see that to be born again
means that your sins are forgiven because you have
confessed and forsook them.

REGENERATION OF YOUR LIFE
Titus 3:4-7
4. But after that the kindness and love of
God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5. Not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, by the washing of regeneration,
and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
6. Which He shed on us abundantly
through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
7. That being justified by His grace, we
should be made heirs according to the hope
of eternal life.
Jesus said that a man must be born of water and of
Spirit. In the above scriptures, the word of God
washes sin away from man. The water required is not
ordinary water or water baptism, but it is the word of
God. The word of God does that washing of

regeneration. The word of God washes you and
makes you to become new.
John 15:3
Now ye are clean through the word which I
have spoken unto you.
4.1 Every Descendant of Adam was Shapen in
Iniquity
Man was created righteous by God and placed in the
Garden of Eden. He was in fellowship with God,
until when Satan came in and deceived him, then
man became defiled and lost the fellowship with His
creator, God.
When the engine of a car knocks, does it move
again? The car cannot move again because the
engine is knocked. Thus, man has a knocked engine
and as a result, man cannot move with God anymore.
Is there anybody that uses a car with a knocked
engine? Any car with a knocked engine is abandoned
because it cannot take you anywhere.
This is why man's relationship with God stopped
because his engine has knocked. Every child of

Adam has a knocked engine. It does not work again.
Righteousness cannot work again in him.
Re-generation means re-working that knocked
engine; removing from the engine the damaged parts
that made it not to function anymore and putting all
into it that will make it a new engine. Then, the
engine will come alive. This is what born again
means. By your life as a sinner, there is nothing else
you can do but to commit sin, because your engine is
knocked. The engine of righteousness has been
destroyed. That is why your car with a knocked
engine cannot move. Even if you sit down inside the
car and it is pushed, you cannot move anywhere.
Where the car is pushed to, it stops there. You can
only use another vehicle to tow and park it
somewhere, maybe for repairs.
4.2 Be Re-empowered to Do Righteousness
John 1:10-13
10 He was in the world, and the world was
made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
11 He came unto His own, and His own

received Him not.
12 But as many as received Him, to them
gave He power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on His name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the
will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but
of God.
Regeneration means that you come to God for mercy
and you have repented of your sins. When you come
to God and accept Jesus, He starts working on you by
the Holy Spirit. He will remove those dead things
that have been destroyed in the engine and will bring
new things into your system to recover the engine so
that you can have a new engine. This is what God
does in the life of someone who has believed in Jesus
and has received Him into his life as his Lord and
Saviour.
Behold, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature
(that is a regenerated man). The man becomes
empowered to do righteousness. This is what it
means to be born again. As God gave man power
from the beginning, now He has re-empowered you,

re-generated you to do righteousness and this is
through Jesus Christ. This happens as you come to
God; your sins are nailed to the cross. Apart from
this, there is no other way. Those who do not know
and follow this way will not be able to do
righteousness. This is the reason why many have not
succeeded to be born again.

CHAPTER FIVE
A NEW CREATURE
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away;
behold, all things are become new.
In that car that has a knocked engine, the radiator and
other things have gone bad. Maybe the problem
started from the radiator because it was overheating.
Many things probably contributed to cause the
engine to get knocked. Now, the parts that have been
damaged are removed and new parts that can keep it
powerful and active have been introduced. Then, the
car becomes new because everything about the
engine is new. It can go anywhere now.
Ezekiel 36:25-27
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon
you, and ye shall be clean: from all your

filthiness, and from all your idols, will I
cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a
new spirit will I put within you: and I will
take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh.

shall keep my judgments, and do them.
5.1 New Nature in you
Thus, if any man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new
creature. Something new has been done in his life.
Old things are passed away. His former lifestyle of
lying, cheating others (even while working in the
church) all the old nature is taken away.
The nature of the old man in you is taken away when
you come to Christ. If you continue in your old
nature and continue to do evil, the day you will be
discovered and exposed is coming. If you are in
Christ Jesus, you are a new creature. That old type of
life (the desire to commit immorality with a woman,

to get a man to touch you, to take alcohol, and
etcetera) is gone. All things become new, your
character changes positively. You now love God,
love to go to church, love the brethren.
Before a youth becomes a new creature, he might
have been sneaking away from church services. He
might be sneaking away because we are many in
church activities and nobody is watching keenly at
the people. During prayers, he is not found there, the
power to pray is not in him because he is not born
again. When he is sent on an errand to purchase
things from the market, he adds his own mark up
because he is not born again. He might have been
telling lies to cover himself. However, when he
discovers the truth and he is ready to receive Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Saviour, he confesses the evil
he had done in the past and be ready to forsake them
and to live a new life in Christ, never to go back to the
sins anymore. That is the new nature in the youth
which God enjoins all His children to embrace.

5.2 Faithfulness And Love Characterizes the
Regenerated Man
When a man becomes born again, everything about
him changes, he is faithful and he loves God. He
ensures he is in church to worship God, he is willing
to evangelise others, pay his tithe and releases his
money for the gospel. Everything becomes new.
Let us consider this scenario: you once had a tenant
in your father's house and he gave you much trouble.
He became difficult to be evicted. He never gave you
rest in the house because he used to play loud music
and nobody could sleep. He refused to control the
volume of his radio, because he claimed he paid rent
for the house. All types of hoodlums had access to
your father's house to meet him to go out for their
evil. You wondered why the tenant is behaving that
way and when you reproved him he said, “Leave me
alone.'' You people went through all this and did not
know how to handle that tenant.
Eventually, God helped you to get a co-tenant who is
a police officer. Through this police man who is his
neighbour, action began on him. The police officer

began to investigate his activities and the hoodlums.
The police officer intervened in the matter because
that tenant is also a nuisance to him in that place. The
police officer went further to warn him and
threatened that he would be locked up if he continued
in that way of life. Do you think that wicked tenant
will move out of that house? Certainly, he will
relocate and everything will become peaceful and
quiet because of the presence of that police officer. If
any man is in Christ, he is a new creature.
When Jesus enters into you, how can demons
manipulate you again? It is not possible for that mind
of stealing to still be in you because Jesus has come
in. That is why the Bible says you are now a new
creature because things will change in your life. Your
former life will stop. New things will begin in your
life because you are in Christ. If your former lifestyle
is still there, you are not yet a new creature, Jesus has
not yet come into your life. You need to invite him to
come into your life.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if

RECONCILIATION WITH GOD
2 Corinthians 5:17-18
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a

reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of
reconciliation;
6.1 Example of the Prodigal Son
We can see this in the story of the prodigal son. Man
was with God enjoying peace until the deception of
the devil came to him. Satan deceived man that life
was better outside God. Satan deceived the prodigal
son to leave his father and go to another place and
live there. The father allowed him to go so that he
also could rest. Then, the son went away and saw

reality, poverty, oppression, scarcity and was dying.
He came to his senses and returned to his father to
make peace with him and receive his favour to live
with him in the house again. That is reconciliation.
Luke 15:11-24
11 And he said, Acertain man had two sons:

father, Father, give me the portion of goods
that falleth to me. And he divided unto them
his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son
gathered all together, and took his journey
into a far country, and there wasted his
substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a
mighty famine in that land; and he began to
be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a
citizen of that country; and he sent him into
his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly
with the husks that the swine did eat: and no
man gave unto him.

6.2 Real Joy Is In Righteousness
Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and
drink; but righteousness, and peace, and
joy in the Holy Ghost.
The prodigal son realized that he was in sorrow
because he had left his father (God). He came to his
senses that the servants in his father's house were
enjoying. Many today are sorrowful because they
have left God. Real joy is in righteousness not in the
acts of sin or in friendship with the world and
sinners.
Angels are servants, but you are sons. Your position
is more than that of Angels in Heaven. If you
reconcile with God and make it to Heaven, angels
will be the ones taking care of you, they will minister
to you because you are a son. Angels should have
been ministering to you but sin has carried you away.
Sin has made you lose your right before God.

You are suffering now like the prodigal son suffered
before he realized himself. The prodigal son said, “I
will arise and go back to my father and say to him,
father, I have sinned against Heaven and before
thee.'' This is reconciliation. Your relationship with
God is spoilt through immorality, stealing, lying and
stubbornness and God abandoned you. You have
become empty but He is asking you to come back to
Him. To be born again means to come back to God
and reconcile with Him. Your sin will be forgiven
and a new life with new promises will be made
available for you. God will usher you into His
kingdom and show you how to live and what to do.
You will become part of the family of God.

JUSTIFICATION
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ:
7.1 Justification by Faith Through Jesus Christ
To be born again means you who used to be afraid of
God because of your sins are no more afraid because
you have been changed by God and your sins are
forgiven.
A person broke into a man's house and stole, and he
was caught in the act. The thief gave all the reasons
why he did that evil but repented and asked for
forgiveness. The owner of the house was convicted
and now said I forgive your sins. I now employ you
to be a staff in my house, I will be paying you salary
so that you will not have cause to steal anymore.

People wondered and said, “Is it not the man that
broke into your house?” The owner of the house
answered, “He broke into my house but I have
forgiven him, he further said “Do not be talking
about that again, I will tell you the good things he
does now. This man washes my clothes every day, he

pets in my house, and so on. The owner of the house
says, I have forgiven him and I will not want you to
be mentioning his past to disturb his heart. This is an
illustration of justification.
Isaiah 43:25
I, even I, Am He that blotteth out thy
transgressions for Mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins.
Micah 7:18, 19
18 Who is a God like unto Thee, that
pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the
transgression of the remnant of His
heritage? He retaineth not His anger for
ever, because He delighteth in mercy.
19 He will turn again, He will have

7.2 No more Condemnation
Romans 8:1-2
1There is therefore now no condemnation
to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ
Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin
and death.
God in His right has justified you and He said you are
free. He said He has forgiven you all those evil things
you did in the past. Do not mention them again, go
and be doing good for Him. He has accepted you.
Hence you have accepted God and pleaded with
Him, He does not remember your sins again and He
is determined to do you good. This is the meaning of
being Born Again
.
God will forgive all those things you did. He will
accept you and declare you righteous before people.

Those people who might have slept with you in
immorality may want to announce your dirty past,
but God will erase that mark of sin from you. There
will be no mark of immorality on you. Your sins will
not be found in any record because God has declared
you free. There will be no more condemnation for

ADOPTION

and daughters of God

You have accepted to be like Jesus before God. You
have been made to be a brother or sister to Jesus. God
sees you as a brother or sister to Jesus. Since Jesus

was a man on earth, Jesus now sees you as a younger
brother / sister of the same Father. God the Father
accepts you like that because you have submitted to
Jesus. Now He sees you as His sons and daughters.
Romans 8:15-17
15 For ye have not received the spirit of
bondage again to fear; but ye have received
the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry,
Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our
spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God,
and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we
suffer with Him, that we may be also
glorified together.
This is adoption. We are heir of the Father, we are
joint heir with the son, we are children of God's
kingdom, we are a family, we are one. This is the
principle. We were bad people on earth until the
precious son of God came down to make friends with
us. We agreed with Him to follow the lifestyle that
He gave us. A lifestyle that does not sin or disobey

the Father; that does not steal or kill, but live
righteous and holy. Since we have accepted this, He
became our friend. He took us before His Father and
said “I love them because they have accepted the
way of life that I live. They have believed in Me;
Father, the type of life that you love has been
accepted by them. My father accept them too.” The
father says, “Okay, as they have accepted My ways, I
accept them to become my sons like you. Now, Jesus
you will share my riches together with them". He
was referring to Jesus as a man. God is saying we
shall enjoy all His riches together and we shall all
become a family.
This is adoption, God has taken you to become a
member of His family because you have repented of
your sins and have accepted Jesus according to the
gospel and living in His righteousness. You are now
sons and daughters of God.
8.2 Genuine Repentance Guarantees Us Eternal
Life with God
He has given you power to inherit all things and live
with Him forever. You are God's sons. The difference

between you and Jesus is that, Jesus is the only
begotten Son of God that has never sinned. He
(Jesus) had been living with the Father from eternity
to eternity. However, you are an adopted son, you
were not a son before. It is Jesus working you,
making you pleasing to the Father that has made the
Father agree that you also should be His son, and
gave you the right of sonship because you are now
born again.
1 John 3:1-3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father
hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and
it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but
we know that, when He shall appear, we
shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as
He is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him
purifieth himself, even as He is pure.

LIVING A SIN-FREE LIFE
1 John 3:8-9
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for

commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him:
and he cannot sin, because he is born of
God.
9.1 Be completely Born of God
If you go about committing sin (stealing, lying, and
more), you are of the devil. Those who preach that
there is no way you can stop sin are saying that there
is no way you can stop Satan in your life or stop
being of Satan. That means you will continue with

Satan and go with him to hell. The devil originated
sin and taught mankind; Jesus has come to destroy
that power of sin that Satan put in man.
This is the difference. If you are born of God, you
will not commit sin because Jesus is in you, the word
of God is in you and the Holy Spirit is in you. How
then can you sin? No, you cannot sin. You cannot be
found taking alcohol, you will not be an adulterer or
committing sin with people's wives, or opening your
body for men, or a fornicator going after boys and
girls. You will not be committing masturbation,
homosexuality or lesbianism. These things will not
be found in you because you are born again. I am a
new creation, a brand-new man, old things are
passed away, I am born again, more than a
conqueror, that is who I am. I am a new creation, a
brand new man.
You have become a brand-new man because God has
worked in your life. Now, you are new.

9.2 Live An Exemplary Life
Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven.
God is showing you to the world that you are a new
creature, a light in the dark world. Go and show the
world that this is how God wants people to live. You
have the hope of heaven because Christ in you is the
hope of glory. You will inherit eternal life because
God has set you free. Look for that life you who have
not got it, who are not yet born again.
Pursue after it and get the life of original Christianity.
Do not just be a church goer. Commit yourself to
God that you will get the correct Christianity. God
wants to be proud over your life, for what He has
done in you. He wants people to see what He has
done in your life.
Cry to God to remove that thing inside of you, which
is making you not to obey Him. Do not be a
pretender, confess your sins before God. Plead with

God, to wash you with the blood of Jesus. Except a
man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of
God.
Cry against sin and the devil in you. If any man is in
Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed
away, and all things become new.
