The students performing the research will describe the study to you and answer all your questions. If you decide not to let your child be involved in this study, this form will be used to record your permission. Purpose of the study Once you agree, your child will be asked to participate in a research study about being a Grade Retainer student of Bagumbayan National High School and how it Influence your Child's Psychosocial Integration. This study aims to assess the impacts of Grade Retention on the Academic Engagement Motivation of High School Retainers of Bagumbayan National High School Year 2023-2024. What task will my child be expected to do? Once you allow your child to participate in this study, they will be asked to state their personal information such as Age, Gender, Grade Level and Number of Retained Years, and they are also expected to answer the survey questionnaire that will be given to them about the Impacts of Grade Retention on the Psychosocial Integration of retained students looking into an intervention in terms of social relationship, well-being, self-efficacy, adaptability, and sense of purpose. The date of distributing survey questionnaires will be on March 19, 2024. and there will be 52 retained students (34 male and 18 female) from different sections that will be part of this study. What are the risks involved in this study? The researchers would only explore and assess the impacts of Grade Retention on the Academic Engagement Motivation of High School Retainers of Bagumbayan National High School Year 2023-2024 and there are no identified risks associated with participating in this study. What are the possible benefits of this study? Participation may have the following advantages: This study will help the retained students to optimize their study habits and cultivate effective psychosocial integration that promotes social and emotional developments. This could also help the students to understand the behavior of their co-students who are retained. Aside from those, Parents and Guardians could also encourage their children to actively join class activities such as teach proper interactive etiquette and understand the importance of empathy to people. Does my child have to participate? No, your child's involvement in this research is entirely optional. Your child is free to decline or to discontinue participation at any moment. There will be no negative effects on their relationship with Bagumbayan National High School from their withdrawal or refusal to participate. You are under no obligation to continue with the study if you decide later on not to allow your child to participate. Furthermore, this research study will happen during scheduled classroom activities; if you prefer your child not to participate in the study, there will be other options. While the survey questionnaires are being distributed, the students will still be working on the task for their subject teacher. What if my child does not want to participate?
