Good morning to the honourable chair and my fellow delegates,
On February 24 2022, Russia declared special military operations in Ukraine. The aftermath of
this had led to a severe refugee crisis.
Ukraine is an integral part of the history of Russia, just like Putin has repeatedly said, the
Ukrainians and the Russians are one and Belarus supports this sentiment. It was time for a
legitimate government to come back in Ukraine and Russia brought in exactly that.
While we are in support of this, we need to keep the refugees in our mind. Belarus has
approximately 10,000 refugees in our country and we call on other countries to do the same
for these refugees. It is important that we treat them fairly and in line with human rights.
