RAISED IN 2022
Established in 2001, Western Capital Markets has grown to become one of Western University’s
largest finance communities. The core of our mission lies on three pillars: to educate, develop and
provide real-world opportunities for members of the Western community to explore their interest in
capital markets. Through our various flagship conferences, educational seminars, and peer
membership programs, our goal is to build the foundation for the next generation of finance leaders.

WOMEN IN FINANCE CONFERENCE
The team at Western Capital Markets is honoured to invite you to join the fourth annual Women in
Finance Conference as a prospective sponsor. As one of Western’s most established finance
organizations, WCM has over 20 years of experience and over 450 active members to date.
As one of WCM’s flagship events, the goal of our annual Women in Finance Conference is to
empower women and non-binary individuals to break into the finance industry by equipping them
with industry knowledge, networking opportunities, and platforms to develop professionally.
Having attracted over 100 students to our panel last year, we can provide our partners with valuable
recruiting opportunities, brand exposure, and campus engagement.
Our sponsors and corporate partners are the fundamental driving forces behind our ability to equip
women with the skills and confidence to excel in the finance industry upon graduation. WCM
thanks you for your time and consideration, and we are beyond excited about the possibility of
collaborating with you for our Women in Finance Conference in 2023.

NEW FORMAT & GOALS FOR THE YEAR
With more than 170 students attending the virtual conference last year, this year’s Women in
Finance Conference is projected to be the largest to date with increased attendance targets and more
engagement opportunities for professionals and students of all backgrounds.
To increase accessibility to students outside of Western, this year’s Women in Finance Conference
will be structured as a hybrid event with speakers, workshops, and networking held virtually, and an
in-person networking event taking place specifically for Western students after virtual
programming.
Virtual programming will held on the Hopin platform, which mimics an in-person conference
experience and allows better engagement opportunities than Zoom. The Hopin platform allows all
participants to engage with speakers during opening keynote and closing remarks, visit different
sponsor booths, join various workshops, and participate in networking events.
WHY PARTNER WITH US?
In 2023, WCM hopes to increase attendance from Canadian University students
outside of the Western community to enable sponsors to develop a valuable
Canadian talent pipeline.
WCM has implemented a well-rounded resume collection and applicant screening
process to ensure equity, diversity, and inclusion goals We hope to provide you
access to valuable summer intern and new-graduate recruiting opportunities.

Economics
WCM’s Women in Finance Conference shaped my
career path. Prior to the conference, I had no idea
what I wanted to do and had only limited knowledge
of which firms offered student opportunities.
However, after leaving the conference, my eyes had
been opened to so many different career paths that I
could take within finance. The panelists at the
conference were inspiring and educational and I
would not be where I am today without having
attended this conference!
Being able to attend the WCM Women in Finance
Conference last year was definitely the highlight of my
first-year experience! I felt very encouraged walking
out of the conference after hearing about so many
inspiring stories from the panelists about how they
broke into the industry. This is one of the biggest
reasons that I hope to get more involved with the
WCM Women in Finance Conference this year and
learn more about different perspectives from the
speakers and my peers!
