THE FORM OF THE PRESENT
PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
The Present Perfect Continuous is formed by using "have/has been" + the
present participle of the verb.
It is used to describe actions that started in the past and continue up to the
present.
It can also be used to describe actions that have just finished and their
effects are still visible.
THE USES OF THE PRESENT
PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Express actions or events that started in the past and continue up to the
present moment.
Emphasize the duration of an action that started in the past and continues
up to the present.
Describe an action that has recently stopped, but has a connection to the
present moment.
Examples of the
Present Perfect
Continuous Tense
The Present Perfect Continuous tense is used to
describe an action that started in the past, continues
in the present, and may continue in the future. For
example, 'I have been working out continuously for
the past month.' The form is: Subject + have/has +
been + present participle (-ing) verb.
