Logical Inferences vs. Assumptions
Set A: This distinction is very important and can be the difference between whether a
patient’s condition gets treated and managed or if there’s a misdiagnosis and the patient’s
condition gets worse. Let’s say I’m with a patient and I’m doing a 12 lead EKG on them and on
there six second strip it shows a heart rate of 300 bpm with abnormal saw tooth wave patterns
where the QRS complexes are then I can assume that they have SVT (supraventricular
tachycardia). With further analysis I can infer that they have an atrial flutter.
