However, evidence suggest that the composition of the 1st and 2nd bar in certain indices is relevant. In this document I am suggesting a crude assessment before executing the trade, using a simple rule of thumb. More about that in a moment. 2nd bar relationship with 1st bar: ● 2nd bar is an inside bar. ● 2nd bar takes out high of 1st bar. ● 2nd bar takes out low of 1st bar. ● 2nd bar takes out both high and low of 1st bar (rare). The structure, be it one of the 4 mentioned above, significantly impacts the prospect of the trade. This has surprised me significantly, because I have not identified similar traits in other indices. It would suggest that the Swiss index should be traded with some filters on the SRS. I have based this research on 2813 observations – or about 13 years of trading data. I am only showing some of the work in this public document. 3 Swiss Index SRS – 15min strategy 8th Sep 2023 The 2nd bar is an inside bar. In my observation this leads to better breakout trades. If the 2nd bar was an outside bar, meaning it goes both and below the 1st bar, the chance of success is also high. However, had the 2nd bar taken out either the high or the low of the 1st bar, I have found the odds of success falls significantly. 5 Format going forward The date is American format = year/month/day. This one displayed here is 7th Sep 2023. The time is displayed as 8am = UK time. If you live in Europe, this would be 9am for you. 6 Swiss Stock Index This is an example of a lower low bar, a “continuation bar” of bar 1. The 3rd bar breaks higher but goes back into the range again. The flip does not work either. Remember, if something does not work often, it sets up an “anti” trade, meaning you are betting there will NOT be a breakout. 7 Swiss Stock Index 8 Swiss Stock Index 9 Swiss Stock Index 10 Swiss Stock Index 11 Swiss Stock Index 12 Swiss Stock Index 13 Swiss Stock Index 14 Swiss Stock Index 15 Swiss Stock Index 16 Swiss Stock Index 17 Swiss Stock Index 18 Swiss Stock Index 19 Swiss Stock Index 20 Swiss Stock Index 21 Swiss Stock Index 22 Swiss Stock Index 23 Swiss Stock Index 24 Swiss Stock Index 25 Swiss Stock Index 26 Swiss Stock Index 27 Swiss Stock Index 28 Swiss Stock Index 29 Swiss Stock Index 30 Swiss Stock Index 31 Swiss Stock Index 32 Swiss Stock Index 33 Swiss Stock Index 34 Swiss Stock Index 35 Swiss Stock Index 36 Swiss Stock Index 37 Swiss Stock Index 38 Swiss Stock Index 39 Swiss Stock Index 40 Swiss Stock Index 41 Swiss Stock Index 42 Swiss Stock Index 43 Swiss Stock Index 44 Swiss Stock Index 45 Swiss Stock Index 46 Swiss Stock Index 47 Swiss Stock Index 48 Swiss Stock Index 49 Swiss Stock Index 50
