INTRODUCTORY RITES
Commentator: Brothers and sisters in Christ good afternoon.
Today, we gather as a community to participate in the Holy
Eucharist and to witness the celebration of the Sacrament
of Marriage between Boven and Iris.
Please, everybody stand to welcome the Mass Celebrant.
PROCESSIONAL
Priest:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit.
All:
Amen.
Priest:
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
All:
And with your Spirit.
Priest:
Boven and Iris, God is love and has, in some mysterious
ways, drawn you together in love. But he leaves you free to
make that love grow or to let it wither and die. The Lord will
help you to forge a future for your love, if you do your share,
when you stand to the commitment to love and honor one
another in good times and bad, in poverty and plenty, in
sickness and in health for better and for worse, in that
covenant which you are about to seal. Insert it into that other
covenant which we celebrate in each celebration of the Mass.
THE GLORY
All:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people
of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we
adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your
great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, Almighty
1
Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God,
Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take way the sins of
the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the
world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand
of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the
Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most
High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of
God the Father. Amen.
OPENING PRAYER
Priest:
Let us pray. Father, you have made the bond of marriage a
holy mystery, a symbol of Christ’s love for his Church. Hear
our prayers for Boven and Iris. With faith in you and in
each other, they pledge their love today. May their lives
always bear witness to the reality of that love. We ask you
this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and
ever.
All:
Amen.
Commentator: Please be seated for the Liturgy of the Word.
LITURGY OF THE WORD
FIRST READING Sirach 26:1-4, 13-16
Reader:
A reading from the Book of Sirach.
Happy the husband of a good wife, twice lengthened are his
days; a worthy wife brings joy to her husband, peaceful and
full is his life. A good wife is a generous gift bestowed upon
him who fears the Lord; be he rich or poor, his heart is
content, and a smile is ever on his face. A gracious wife
delights her husband, her thoughtfulness puts flesh on his
bones; a gift from the Lord is her governed speech, and her
firm virtue is of surpassing worth. Choicest blessings is a
2
modest wife, priceless her chaste person. Like the sun rising
in the Lord’s heavens, the beauty of a virtuous wife is the
radiance of her home.
The Word of the Lord.
All:
Thanks be to God.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Response: ® May love be ours, Lord
May love be ours
May love be ours, O Lord
Not for tongues of heaven’s angels
Not for wisdom to discern
Not for faith that masters mountains
For this better gift we yearn. ®
Love is humble, love is gentle
Love is tender, true and kind
Love is gracious, ever patient
Generous of heart and mind. ®
Never Jealous , never selfish
Love does not rejoice in wrong
Never boastful or resentful
Love believes and suffers long ®
Soon will fade the word of wisdom,
Faith, and hope be one day past:
When we see our Savior clearly
Love it is alone will last ®
3
SECOND READING 1 Cor. 13:4-13
Reader:
A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the
Corinthians.
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not
put on airs, it is not snobbish. Love is never rude, it is not
self-seeking, it is not prone to anger; neither does it brood
over injuries. Love does not rejoice in what is wrong but
rejoices with the truth. There is no limit to love’s
forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure.
Love never fails. Prophecies will cease, tongues will be silent,
knowledge will pass away. Our knowledge is imperfect and
our prophesying is imperfect. When the perfect comes, the
imperfect will pass away. When I was a child I used to talk
like a child, think like a child, reason like a child. When I
became a man I put childish ways aside. Now we see
distinctly, as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. My
knowledge is imperfect now; then I shall know even as I am
known. There are in the end three things that last: faith, hope
and love, and the greatest of these is love.
The Word of the Lord.
All:
Thanks be to God.
Commentator: Please all stand to honor the Holy Gospel.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
All:
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Reader:
Alleluia, Alleluia. If we love one another, God will live in us
in perfect love. Alleluia, alleluia.
Alleluia, Alleluia.
All:

GOSPEL
Matthew (19:3-6)
Priest:
The Lord be with you.
All:
And with your Spirit.
Priest:
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew (19:36)
All:
Glory to you, O Lord.
Priest:
Some Pharisees approached Jesus, and to test him they said
“Is it against the Law for a man to divorce his wife on any
pretext whatever?” Jesus answered: “Have you not read that
the creator from the beginning made them male and female
and that he said: This is why a man must leave his father and
mother, and cling to his wife, and he two become one body.
So then, what God has united, man must not divide.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
All:
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Commentator: Please be seated and listen to the. homily.

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. Through your
goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has given
and human hands have made. It will become for us the
bread of life.
All:
Blessed be God forever.
The priest pours wine and a little water into the chalice and says:
Priest:
Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation. Through your
goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and
work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.
All:
Blessed be God forever.
After washing his hands, the priest says:
Priest:
Pray, brethren (brothers and sisters), that our sacrifice may

PREFACE
Priest:
The Lord be with you.
All:
Priest:
And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts.
All:
We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest:
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
All:
It is right and just.
Priest:
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always
and everywhere to give You thanks, Lord, Holy Father,
Almighty and eternal God. For You have forged the
covenant of marriage as a sweet yolk of harmony and an
unbreakable bond of peace, so that the chaste and fruitful
love of Holy Matrimony may serve to increase the children
you adopt as your own. By your providence and grace, Oh
Lord, You accomplish the wonder of this twofold design:
that, while the birth of children brings beauty to the world,
their rebirth in Baptism gives increase to the Church,
through Christ our Lord. Through Him, with the Angels and
all the Saints, we sing the hymn of Your praise, and without
end we acclaim.
SANCTUS
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and
earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
CONSECRATION
Commentator: Please all kneel for the Consecration.
Priest:
You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all Holiness.
Make Holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down
your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may
12
become for us the Body and + Blood of our Lord, Jesus
Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his
passion, He took bread and giving thanks, broke it, gave it
to His disciples, saying:
“TAKE THIS ALL OF YOU,
AND EAT OF IT; FOR THIS IS MY BODY
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU”.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice
and once more giving thanks and praise, he
gave it to
his disciples, saying:
“TAKE THIS ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT.
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE
BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL
COVENANT. WHICH WIL BE POURED OUT FOR
YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS
OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME”.
The mystery of faith.
All:
We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your
Resurrection until you come again.
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
Priest:
Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of His Death and
Resurrection, we offer You Lord, the Bread of Life and the
Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held as
worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of
Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
13
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the
world, and bring her to the fullness of charity together with
Francis, our Pope, Angel our Bishop, and all the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters, who have fallen
asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have
died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your
face.
Have mercy on us all we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin
Mary, Mother of God, with St. Joseph, her spouse, with
the Blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased
you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to
eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your
Son, Jesus Christ.
Through Him, with Him, and in Him, O God, almighty
Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor
is Yours, forever and ever.
All:
Amen.
Commentator: Please all rise.

Let us now invoke by our prayers, dear brothers and sisters,
God’s blessing upon Boven and Iris,, that in his kindness

be crowned with your blessing, we humbly beseech you for
these your servants who are joined today in the Sacrament
of Matrimony. May your abundant blessing, Lord, come
down upon this bride, Iris and upon Boven, her companion
for life, and may the power of your Holy Spirit set their
hearts aflame from on high, so that, living out together the
gift of Matrimony, they may adorn their family with children

Lord, in sorrow may they seek you out; may they have the
joy of your presence to assist them in their toil, and know
that you are near to comfort them in their need; let them

the Pope, while people sing the Lamb of God.
All:
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
grant us peace.
COMMUNION
The priest holds the host over the paten and says:
Priest:
This is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the
world. Happy are those who are called to his supper.
