Activity #1: VOLCANO ERUPTION MODEL
Instructions:
1. Divide the students into small groups.
2. The group should provide the following materials: baking soda, vinegar,
funnel or any folder used in pouring liquids and solid particles,
dishwashing liquid.
3. Pour vinegar into the plastic bottle until it is about one-third full.
4. Add a few drops of red food coloring if there is available, then pour
vinegar to represent magma.
5. Using the funnel, add a spoonful of baking soda to the bottle.
6. Observe the reaction as the vinegar and baking soda mix.
