1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Bangladesh's ICT industry is new contrasted with other business areas. In any case, the vast
conceivable outcomes of the ICT area acclaim the inquisitive interest of all interested parties. The
effect of worldwide publicity in the ICT area can likewise be found in Bangladesh. Lately, the
neighborhood ICT area has developed incredibly. Within excess of 3,000 neighborhood
organizations working in the equipment, programming, and ISP portions, Bangladesh's ICT
industry as of now remains at US $ 160 million. Because of the advantages of an ambitious
beginning, the equipment portion overwhelms the piece of the pie (65%), and the moderately late
section programming fragment represents around 15% of the absolute market. The ITES fragment
(15%) and Internet and organization administrations (5%) make up the remainder of the market.
Albeit the product area is still generally new to the market, it is showing sound development
concerning send out income. Send out incomes from Software and ITES were USD 27.01 million
of every 2005-06, up 113 percent from the earlier year, as indicated by Bangladesh Bank sources.
Bangladesh's product firms serve the IT/ITES needs of the nation's driving enterprises, like articles
of clothing, banks, and government. All the while, exploiting the worldwide person of the IT
business, neighborhood organizations are ceaselessly keeping watch for global possibilities.
Bangladesh has now arisen as one of the most encouraging reevaluating areas on the planet because
of these drives.
Furthermore, towers are the main piece of this development and thriving on the grounds that
without towers it is difficult to grow the correspondence offices, organization, and web all around
the nation, and Summit Communications Ltd is going about its business impeccably to set up
towers required and extend the systems administration region all over Bangladesh. Additionally,
the NTTN, Dark Fiber, Bandwidth, BTS, and so forth are giving Bangladesh a lift to become
significantly quicker with the advanced world with the assistance of Summit Communications Ltd.
1.2 Background of the Report
The internship report represents the business development strategy and customer targeting
strategies of Summit Communications Ltd. After joining as an intern at Summit Communications
Ltd I had the opportunity to work with the Business Development & Strategy Division of Summit
Communications Ltd. While working in the division I observed my fellow senior colleagues to
determine every detail and the report is a representation of my learning. The objective was to share
the internship experience, learnings, finding the drawbacks, comparing the academic knowledge
with the real-life job experience.
Genuine experience is obligatory to know something completely. An internship program is
essential for every graduating student. Since I am an undergraduate student, the goal of this
9|Page
internship report is comprehensive my bachelor’s degree. I planned this area from the Internship
report on business development and targeting strategies of Summit Communications Ltd.
Finally, the findings are examined to prescribe a set of specific recommendations.
1.3 Objective of the Report
Broad Objective
The principal objective of this report is to find out about how the associations think and take vital
choices which lead them to turn out to find success associations in such a brief period.
Explicit Objectives
•
To find out about the essential choices of Summit Communications Ltd as a private
association and the connection they keep up with alongside their clients.
•
To know the exercises of the Business Development Department of Summit
Communications Ltd.
•
To notice the workplace and learn office representatives' way of behaving and the
principles and guidelines connected with site procurement and rent for making telecom towers.

Bangladesh. In this report, I have shared my genuine experience while getting the valuable chance

the hierarchical construction, foundation, capacities, and execution of the association. Principally
I worked in the Business Development Department, so my reports cover every one of the exercises
of business systems and potential client focusing on methodologies that they follow. The extent of
this report is restricted to encounters of working in the association.
1.5 Limitation of the Report
To examine the general business systems of an association is an intense assignment
likewise it is secret. Other than this because of safety reasons, the association
representatives as a rule would rather not share with the assistant every one of the
information and papers about the approach and methodology of their techniques. Time
constraint has turned into an imperative issue as the span of the entry level position term
was only for 90 days. Other than a portion of the essential hindrances to setting up the
report are:
10 | P a g e
•
The temporary job period is not adequate chance to assemble a general
perspective on business techniques.
•
The reluctance of the authorities to unveil the classified data.
•
The authorities were not accessible all an opportunity to illuminate me with a
wide range of tasks of the association even though they had the expectation to do as such.
•
Due to COVID19 limitations and subsequent meetups, it was difficult to
accumulate a lot of data.
•
Adequate composed archives and refreshed information were not accessible
because of mystery issues to make this concentrate on more exhaustive.
•
As a direct scientist and not a long-lasting individual from SCL, now and again
it became unfit to figure out numerous mystery and touchy issues of the association.

2. Literature Review
With the coming of the new economy, plans of action (BM) have turned into an undeniably famous
unit of examination to make sense of contrasts in firms' prosperity (Cearley et al., 2012,
Büyüközkan et al., 2018). In any case, advanced plan of action (DBM) varies from plan of action
on the premise that it can give a two-way income model for both the clients and the venders, so
we really want to lay accentuation on the two sides (Bocken et al., 2014). A decent computerized
plan of action ought to ensure that the merchant as well as the purchaser gets benefited (Evans et
al., 2009, Yin et al., 2018).
With the advancement of innovation and information, plan of action, not just the region
experienced change while different regions which experienced change are business system, labor
force, client communication and business tasks, and these regions are subject to one another for
their development and achievement (Gawer et al., 2007, 2014, Werth et al., 2018).
As per creators A. Osterwalder and Y. Pigneur (Osterwalder, et al., 2002, 2004, 2005, 2010, 2011,
Wu et al., 2015), in their book "Plan of action Generation: A Handbook for Visionaries, Game
Changers, and Challengers, Hoboken, New Jersey: John Wiley and Sons, Inc", a plan of action
can be portrayed by nine structure blocks which further wraps the four primary fragments of
business: clients, proposition, foundation and monetary feasibility (Timmers et al., 1998, Clark et
al., 2012, Xu et al., 2018, Wirtz et al., 2010). To see how the ascent of stages is changing rivalry,
we want to look at how stages vary from the customary "pipeline" organizations that have
overwhelmed industry for a long time. Pipeline organizations make esteem by controlling a
straight series of exercises the exemplary worth chain model (Luby et al., 2006). Contributions
toward one side of the chain (say, materials from providers) go through a progression of steps that
change them into a result that is worth more: the completed item. Apple's handset business is a
pipeline however consolidate it with the App Store, the commercial center that interfaces
application engineers and iPhone proprietors, it turns into a computerized stage
As Apple shows, associations need not be just a pipeline or a stage; they can be both. While
unadulterated pipeline creations are still exceptionally unobtrusive, when stages enter similar
commercial center, the stages ceaselessly avalanche. For that reason, pipeline titans like Walmart,
Nike, John Deere, and GE are crosscountry to join stages into their plans of action (Watanabe et
al., 2018).
Moreover, in a review on job of the plan of action, Chesbrough and Rosenbloom thrilled a more
itemized meaning of plan of action as (Chesbrough et al., 2002, Yoo et al., 2010, 2012, Sabatier
et al., 2012):
The elements of a plan of action are to:
articulate the incentive, or at least, the worth made for clients by the contribution considering the
innovation.
12 | P a g e
recognize a market fragment, which is to say, the clients to whom the innovation is valuable and
for what reason.
characterize the construction of the worth chain inside the firm expected to make and convey the
contribution.
gauge the expense construction and benefit capability of creating the contribution, given the offer
and worth chain structure picked.
depict the place of the firm inside the worth organization connecting providers and clients,
including distinguishing proof of supplements and rivals.
plan the serious methodology by which the improving firm will acquire and hold advantage over
rivals.
This definition brings up the significant squares of a plan of action on which it ought to concentrate
and proposes an appropriate approach to cooperating with them so the plan of action can work
productively which prompts a practical approach to carrying on with work (Azodolmolky et al.,
2013, Balodi et al., 2014, Coase, 1937, de Vasconcelos Gomes et al., 2018). The need of these
traits might change in various organizations as per their necessities and the state of the commercial
center, so there is no impulse on treating them in an equivalent way in each and every business as
certain characteristic might require substantially more clarity of mind than different qualities in a
specific business (Grewal et al., 2018, Hamari et al., 2016, Baldegger et al., 2016, Bason, 2018,
Mishra and Tripathi, 2019, 2020b).
Different structures have been set somewhere around various creators which further assistance
being developed of plans of action as expected by the business, these systems depict relationship
of significant parts and furthermore give an understanding on how they can be helpful to our
business, and there is no single amazing system characterized for all business types so its decision
can fluctuate from one business to another (Kurt et al., 2017, Baporikar, 2015, Benlian, 2018).
These systems can assist with using the plan of action to its greatest potential. A portion of these
current systems are Business cycle structure, Innovation radar and so on (Li et al., (2018),
Lockamy III et al., (2011, 2012), Berman et al., (2012), Antikainen, et al., (2016)).

c. To create and execute state of the art transmission innovations to satisfy market need.
d. To examine and foster the prospects of different correspondences administrations.
4.2 Organization Structure
Summit Communications Limited, a sister firm of Summit Industrial and Mercantile Corporation
(Pvt.) Limited, has adjusted its administration to the essential abilities and specialized expertise in
help divisions. The essential worries will be taken care of by SCL's Board of Directors, while the
arrangement will be executed and observed by the organization's certified staff. Here is the
organization's expected organogram:

4.3 Project Profile of Summit Communication Limited
The BTRC had granted licenses to the private area for the development, activity, and upkeep of a
countrywide optical fiber network known as the Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission
Network the nation over (NTTN). On December ninth, 2009, Summit Communications Limited
was named the second licensee to construct a cross country optical fiber organization. The main
permit was given to Fiber@Home Limited in 2008, and they are currently in business with a
significant Optical Fiber Network impression the nation over.
4.3.1 Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network
SCL acquired the Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) permit from
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in December 2009. The extent
of the permit enables it to give information network administrations to the ISP suppliers, telecom
administrators, instructive organizations, wellbeing, and neighborhood government
establishments, and so on It has previously fostered a significant organization reach and right now,
SCL works the biggest fiber optic organization for example 47,000 km in Bangladesh. It has
arrived at 64 regions and 492 Upazilas previously addressing a 100 percent infiltration rate at the
sub-locale level. Bangladesh's broadcast communications foundation necessity is developing at a
quick speed. The interest for extra foundation develops dramatically consistently as satisfied and
gadget end-clients have continuously moved a greater amount of their work and ways of life to
portable brought together interchanges and coordinated effort innovations. This has moved the
requirement for strong, solid, adaptable, and future-evidence framework which is the core of key
thought for SCL and the Government of Bangladesh as a feature of its continuous Digital
Bangladesh 2021 Vision. The most proficient and practical way for telecom administrators and
the public authority to extend their points of view is by collaborating with a foundation
arrangements supplier for example NTTN licensee that can help plan, secure, execute, support,
keep up with and deal with the whole lifecycle of the nation's IT and telecom framework. SCL has
been planning, building, and supporting media communications foundation in Bangladesh
throughout the last ten years. SCL's technique is to function as an accomplice in accomplishing
the objectives spread out in the ILDTS Policy with all industry partners including the BTRC, other
telecom organizations, banks, business bodies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Interconnection
Exchanges (ICXs), International Gateway Operators (IGWs) and ANS Operators. It can supply 10
Gigabit (upgradable up to one hundred Gigabit) of transmission transfer speed inside Dhaka and
adequate ability to send information all through the country. A gifted and experienced staff of
1,200+ works nonstop to guarantee 99.99% uptime. It is as of now giving 2G/3G/4G backhauling
administrations to every portable administrator
Because of the incredible extension in the media communications industry, there is an interest for
strong, hearty, and bound together optical fiber networks in metro places and long stretch for
network availability and transmission. All telecom organizations, including portable
administrators, PSTN suppliers, and ISPs, have set up their own organizations for network
availability. Apart from versatile transporters, every one of them has assembled their organization
utilizing upward wires instead of the underground organization, which is perilous and has a short
financial life. As an outcome of the expansion in media communications interest in Bangladesh
18 | P a g e
throughout the last ten years, transmission answers for dynamic and uninvolved organizations
stand out enough to be noticed. A very much planned optical transmission organization can convey
and communicate voice, information, and video administrations to end-clients productively. Thus,
by using NTTN administrators in the country, the nation can reinforce its organization
transmission, give a more affordable however more tough organization, diminish asset waste, and
execute an organization develop for interfacing a wide range of administrators under a typical
spine to work with systems administration to all elements with negligible disturbance.

periods of the issuance of the permit. The administrator is not permitted to move any offer
before the issuance of Initial public offering and without earlier authorization from BTRC.
4.3.2 International Terrestrial Cable (ITC)
In January 2012, SCL was granted the permit to give International Terrestrial Cables
(ITC) Systems and Services. Bangladesh used to buy into one submarine link, SEA-MEWE-4, and SEA-ME-WE-5 (Southeast Asia Middle East Western Europe) with next to
no reinforcement support. ITC permit has permitted SCL to lay fiber optic organization
cross line and interface with the fiber optic organization in India. Consequently, the
Terrestrial Cable will give administrators in Bangladesh the advantage of availability
with a few submarine links of India. This link will work with the development of the ICT
and telecom area through continuous telecom administrations. As this undertaking is
being created stage by stage, SCL hopes to interface Bangladesh to the whole globe by
giving admittance to quick and conservative Internet availability.
By the ITC authorizing rules, SCL is relied upon to keep up with, work and serve
International Terrestrial Cable administrations. Its upstream accomplices in India are
Tata Communications Limited and Bharti Airtel Limited and it is keeping up with the
limit of two hundred Gbps with them. They are furnishing SCL with elite administrations
and the proficiency expected to carry endeavor and transporter grade administrations to
Bangladesh.
SCL has fostered a completely solid and repetitive backhaul for its ITC network paving
the way to the Benapole landing station. SCL ITC MUX has been set in Data Center at
the Benapole region to get the organization. These MUXs are associated with an
upstream supplier with appropriate overt repetitiveness. One more piece of the gear is
associated with SCL-claimed and P-networks work to convey traffic up to Dhaka. PGCB
network is an exceptionally gotten network in Bangladesh and it is additionally
associated with other backhaul organizations to give a tertiary level overt repetitiveness
to its significant clients. In the wake of arriving at Dhaka through the DWDM network
RK, the connection is associated with Dhaka MUX. It has numerous repetitive ways on
its cross-country organization and adequate drop focuses. It has secluded network
hardware to redo administrations according to client necessities. Since power has for
quite some time been an issue in Bangladesh, it has reinforcement power supplies in all
dissemination directs and different redundancies toward boot. ITC Network Technology
graph has been displayed beneath:
20 | P a g e
Figure 2: ITC Network Technology Diagram
Adjoining markets like Maldives, Nepal, and Myanmar are extremely intrigued to profit IPLC
arrangements from Bangladesh. In 2016-2018, the utilization of SCL through the ITC network
depended on 180 Gbps and SCL anticipates that this utilization should ascend to four hundred
Gbps by the following 5-years. The purposes for this normal expanding pattern of Gbps utilization
are:
The forthcoming development pace of Bangladesh macroeconomic variable and sped up
development pace of Information Technology area with the diminishing expense of Bandwidth
will lead the Bandwidth use of Bangladesh to get high in impending years.
Expanding reliance on ITC network among worldwide organizations by means of IPLC
administration to get information. To meet the huge utilization of the web by people and
organizations in Bangladesh, passage administrators will require more transmission capacity the
by means of ITC organization. The International Terrestrial Cable gives reinforcement to two
worldwide availabilities that Bangladesh has through the SMW-4 and SMW-5 submarine link. It
goes about as a repetitive link connect through India which guarantees 100 percent uptime for all
worldwide transmission capacity needs for all interchanges - voice, information, and video.
SCL has arranged its organization limit with the arrangement to offer types of assistance to 100MN
end-users inside the following 15 years. With the sendoff of 4G/LTE, it can figure that the transfer
speed requests will increment dramatically. It intends to take care of the gigantic development
before long while giving a nonstop port and a serious level of Quality of Service.
21 | P a g e
4.3.3 International Internet Gateway (IIG)
As an IIG Operator, SCL's goal is to lay out a safe organization framework on a public scale, and
accordingly, the organization limit might have to take care of more than 10 mm clients inside a
short skyline. SCL's technique is to proceed the rollout and grow the door limit on a continuous
premise. At first, I laid out a focal entryway server in Dhaka Metropolitan City due to the high
data transmission interest around here and hence carried out various PoPs the nation over to work
with this support of neighborhood clients. SCL is intending to lay out extra substations in each
division to spread its organization and to serve the clients of those areas. Each local activity will
incorporate various PoPs which will be outfitted with elite transmission gear to work with
dissemination of the much-requested Internet Bandwidth, guaranteeing the highest level of nature
of administration. The duty plan of transfer speed limit and mass limit will be presented by BTRC
rules and will offer the most serious rate to the Internet clients of Bangladesh.
Through SCL's IIG, Google storing is serving around 7 Gbps traffic; Akamai reserving is as of
now carried out in the arrangement of IIG traffic. Four Layer vertical overt repetitiveness with
global transporters like Telecom Italia Sparkle (STM1), BSCCL (1XST, M - 4,) and Cogent
interchanges (STM-6) are now associated with SCL's IIG interaction.
At present, it can give clients data transmission through FE, GE, 0, GE, E1, or STM-x levels. It
has worldwide connections running in both the East and West headings guaranteeing overt
repetitiveness on a worldwide scale and its upstream accomplices give the specialized information
and world class innovation to guarantee quality administrations.
Figure 3: IIG Network Technology
22 | P a g e
SCL has laid out a condition of quality Data Center and a few PoPs for giving IIG administrations
in Dhaka as well as more prominent Dhaka. To guarantee legitimate overt repetitiveness and
furthermore to safeguard against calamity, it has laid out a full-verification DR (Disaster
Recovery) site in Uttara with satisfactory gadget limit which can get the full heap of the
organization whenever. It has introduced transporter grade hardware with appropriate overt
repetitiveness which can furnish the best nature of administration with esteem added
administrations too. It has laid out availability for certain eminent upstream administrators like
Telecom Italia Sparkle, BSCCL, BTCL, Cogent Communications, and furthermore from SCL ITC
which gets its organization through both Submarine and Terrestrial organizations (Tata, Bharti).
SCL IIG additionally has Private Network Interface (PNI) with Google, Facebook, Verizon, and
two-sided looking with thirty-two significant specialist co-ops. In Chattogram and Bogra, it has
additionally settled a different and autonomous Data Center with transporter evaluated gear
arrangement. IIG Network Technology is displayed in Figure 3.3.
SCL has presented Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) in IIG Network to give P2P branch
association with Corporate/Enterprise Customer(s). Later, new VAS and Cache will be
incorporated into the IG network for further developing the assistance experience. SCL's present
Gbps utilization is around three hundred Gbps and the Company anticipates that this Gbps
utilization should ascend around 1 TBPS inside the following 5 years. Presently, IIGs have four
center clients, ISPs, Telecom Operators, Call Centers, and BWA administrators all around the
country. It furnishes them with dependability, accessibility, cutthroat evaluating, and the greatest
of administrations.
4.3.4 Interconnection Exchange
As an ICX licensee, SCL lays out, operates, and keeps up with the interconnection trade
administrations to give telecom administrations but to information interchanges. Under this permit,
SCL gives steering or exchanging offices between operator homegrown voice calls and global
calls among ANS and IGW administrators, SMS, VMS, or some other worth added
administrations. Beforehand all portable administrators were straightforwardly associated.
Presently under this license, all administrators need to course their homegrown and interior call
through ICX. In such manner, SCL needed to introduce its hardware at its server farm and lay out
network with telecom and IGW administrators. As indicated by authorizing rules, it has
proactively settled framework in Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet. It is likewise associated with all
significant cell phone administrators, PSTN administrators, and IGWs in the nation and is taking
care of near 12 mm minutes daily. There are just thirteen nations on the planet with a cell phone
client base of more than 100 mm. Bangladesh has positioned ninth position. As of December 2018,
it had a cell phone endorser base of 157.54 mm. These enormous quantities of supporters are
adjusted by ICXs for between administrator calls and according to guideline SCL ICX handle near
12.0 mm minutes out of every day which is near 330 mm minutes of the month where Monthly
market traffic is 5.9 BN minutes, and such huge deals are taken care of by SCL and other ICX(s).
SCL has above 4% portion of the overall industry (due to keeping up with hearty organization and
best quality) in International and Domestic Traffic (Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet). For
interconnection and keeping up with network order, SCL's ICX is associated with all the
significant cell phone administrators, IOSs through IGW's and IPTSP administrators making SCL
23 | P a g e
one of the more complete ICXs available. Upheld with transporter grade gear and a vigorous and
secure organization it gives the best voice quality and QoS to its clients keeping up with 99.99%
uptime.
4.4 Network of SCL
SCL developed a Fiber Optic fiery local area to associate with different spots starting from Dhaka
through which culmination's clients are associated. Most in their clients select the use of
culmination's transmission network as its essential transportation machine since there organization
is extremely dependable and cost strong. Culmination's chief Point of Presence (PoP) is set at
Karwan Bazar. The transmission local area branches out from culmination's chief PoP to different
PoPs all through the country.
• Highest point's Dhaka-Narayangonj dynamic transmission network is steered by means of Kaptan
Bazar, Doyagang, Jatrabari, Jurain, Shympur, Kotwali, Pagla, Panchabati, Chashara, Godnail. The
organization range span is 49km. its miles associated in ring format. Culmination has found
vigorous gadgets in 6 sites (PoPs) toward this path, and they are equipped for offer transmission
contributions from any of these PoPs. Culmination's people group limit in Dhaka - Narayangonj
people group is STM-16. It can cook client necessities in E1s or MB stage.
• SCL has introduced their own special vivacious organization in Dhaka-Chittagong long stretch
course. This extensive take local area is steered from Dhaka to Chittagong through Modonpur,
Eliatganj, Laksam, Choddogram, Feni, Mirersorai, Shitakundo. They might be equipped for offer
availability from E1 up to STM-64 phase interface as their network transmission capacity on this
bearing is STM-64. They have 7 PoPs on this heading and can offer the previously mentioned
transfer speed from the PoPs as a whole.
• Aside from their own special tailor-made local area, highest point has moreover procured STM
stage transfer speed in few extensive take courses from BTCL in lease terms. For Dhaka stop they
has utilized their own underground organization and associated their lively gadget in there Dhaka
significant PoP from Moghbazar BTCL.
• In Dhaka - Benapole long stretch, highest point has acquired an unprotected STM-5 level data
transfer capacity ability that is 550km in length span. There Dhaka end is connected from
Moghbazar BTCL and Benapole is joined from BTCL Sharsha, Jessore.
• In Dhaka - Bogra extended pull, highest point has taken an unprotected STM-1 degree data

4.5 SCL’s Product & Services
The principal grace of Summit Dispatches Limited is to ease network transmission effortlessness.
According to approval do, will manufacture up, handle, and preserve a visual coarseness rope,
lattice and let out to ANS drivers, ISPs, different authorized telecom drivers, and rope blockhead
box. Drivers. will inhale developing a chine network both in metro megalopolises and in the extend
draw and can Furnish network effortlessness through 1) Dark Fiber Leasing, 2) Bandwidth
Leasing. Another grace the troop offers is BTS and Hub site availability.
4.5.1 Dark Fiber Leasing
The term dull fiber was first utilized when about the certain organization limit of telecom structure,
yet presently likewise alludes to the decreasingly normal act of renting fiber optical lines from an
organization specialist co-op. Dim fiber organization might be highlight point, highlight
multipoint, or use tone-retouching ring or lattice geographies. While dull fiber renting. SCL offers
drivers to rent centers/support (for example deeply) from SCL's organization for a clear distance
and the driver will pay grounded on per Km per center base for dim fiber dull renting. Likewise,
the organization can make up new spikes as indicated by the solicitation of drivers. The drivers
can rent data transfer capacity to the end visitors utilizing their dynamic gadget or terminal outfit.
Implied visitors for dull fiber renting are ISPs, Mobile. Drivers, PSTN drivers, Wimax drivers,
and Cable Television drivers. By and by, all drivers are. Outfitting end client results by outfitting
dim fibers to every client. Therefore, there. is a cautious requirement for additional dull fibers
among all drivers for outfitting spine and start to finish transmission results which can be
facilitated through NTTN drivers? SCL will give at least 100 Km dim fibers for the approaching
multiple times to these drivers for facilitating their spine result and these dim fibers will be given
for their spine result and will outline them to sublease these fibers to different drivers.
4.5.2 Bandwidth Leasing
One more imperative method for giving transmission administration to drivers is to rent data
transfer capacity. Transfer speed can be created utilizing a functioning gadget or terminal outfit
and the organization will dispense transmission capacity to the drivers grounded on SDH (for
voice) or FE-GE Ethernet innovation (for information) since a portion of the drivers, particularly
some ISPs incline toward renting data transfer capacity. This assistance is Seductive for unique
little ISPs who cannot go to rent 100 Km of Dark fiber and have a little interest of Bandwidth in
specific regions in their solicitation. A few different administrations likewise can be offered
utilizing this innovation at the after phase of the organization's plan.
4.5.3 BTS and Hub site Connectivity
Versatile drivers and Wimax drivers use BTS lobbies to lube their remote organization. End
junkies get this driver's administration with no line, utilizing these BTS corridors. In any case,
BTS lobbies. of these drivers get associated with their Mecca spots (often alludes to MSC and
26 | P a g e
BSC or total point) utilizing fixed optic fiber. Likewise, the most extreme of the BTS-BSC
availability has been. laid out Grounded on Ethernet which is costly and needs congruity. Huge
versatile drivers previously had laid out their underground spine to help their mecca spots; still,
most extreme of these. networks do not conceal to the BTS availability. Additionally, a few drivers
rent out others. drivers' raised spine in return for yearly package repayment which gives an
impermanent outcome to their organization network. Likewise at times these drivers bear a knittermade organization to associate their last-a remote place network up to their BTS castle, which just
NTTN drivers can. give. Likewise, the rise of 3G innovation will increment transfer speed need.
also, those 3G-upheld BTS corridors should be associated from the collection focuses/Mecca Spots
with optic fiber to convey further data transmission.

Figure 5: Proposed layout of fiber optic cable to be installed by SCL under IPFFII
As country-wide 4G rollout keeps on occurring, SCL is relied upon to cover 7,800 km to give extra
network to 1,300 BTS inside June 2021. Also, SCL is intending to trade the current fiber network
from 4-center non-heavily clad fiber or 6-center non-protected fiber to have 12-center shielded
fiber in that organization for greater limit and to fortify the current organization to take care of the
rising interest in its objective areas. It would cover a complete distance of around 1,154 km. SCL
additionally needs to update the limit (Gbps) of the current organization. To accomplish the
objective, SCL is relied upon to send 635 km of upward fiber in target regions inside June 2021.

4.7 Project Implementation Schedule
The extension of the optical fiber network in Telco BTS is reliant upon the development plan of
MNOs. It was guessed that the sale for the 5G empowered range would occur in mid-2020. The
countrywide rollout of 4G availability was likewise expected to extend quickly over the period.
34 | P a g e
However, the entire world has gone into stop circumstance because of COVID-19 pandemic. For
guaranteeing wellbeing and security of the mass individuals, the public authority of Bangladesh
announced general occasion all around the country from March 2020. The entire eco-arrangement
of inventory network imploded with this unexpected impact; countrywide monetary, instructive,
and social exercises have become reliant upon media transmission framework. To keep up with
and upkeep colossal organization of 48,000+ KM while guaranteeing security of its labor force,
SCL has needed to connect exceptionally predetermined number of specialized staff in support of
its organization; along these lines moving its concentration from the forceful development.
Because of the pandemic, development of 4G organization likewise dialed back during the overall
occasions. Notwithstanding, with COVID-19 cases diminishing in the later piece of 2020 and
countrywide inoculation program acquiring force since start of 2021, the business exercises are
returning to new-ordinary. Closeout for new recurrence range was held in March 2021 and Telcos
are expanding their 4G impression to support business. GoB stays focused on 5G sendoff soon to
emerge its "Computerized Bangladesh" vision. Thus, SCL has likewise patched up dealing with
its arranged execution exercises. Also, in shortage of minimal expense long haul framework
funding arrangements, SCL was bound to use supporting from business banks/Financial
Institutions for its arranged extension exercises at a moderately greater expense. Henceforth SCL
needs to contain the execution exercises during this residency. Because of the circumstances
referenced above, execution plan has been modified as depicted below:

4.8 Impacts During Operation
The potential environmental impacts could also be categorized into: (a) ecological impacts; (b)
physico-chemical impacts; and (c) socio-economic impacts. In general, the potential adverse
impacts of the sub-projects during operational phase are not likely to be significant.
I.
II.
III.
IV.
Ecological impacts: During functional stage, the conceivable effect of the sub-project
exercises on the organic climate would be irrelevant. A portion of the sub-undertakings
could cause an adjustment of the residence attributes of sea-going/earthly fauna nearby
the sub-project areas (in open-cut technique fundamentally).
Physicochemical impacts: No impacts on physic-chemical parameters are anticipated
during the operation phase of the project.
Socio-economic impacts: Human Health: during the activity period of the task human
wellbeing and security is expected to be improved by the undertaking through the
arrangement of worked on broadband help to unserved or underserved networks,
including direct association with clinical offices or crisis administrations suppliers.
Further developed broadband network may support the extension of far-off wellbeing
administrations (for example associating wellbeing offices to specialty conference
benefits and giving distant appraisal and demonstrative administrations). By giving
extra, more solid, and quicker internet providers, the proposed optical fiber
organization would bring about advantageous, territorial, long haul, moderate effects
on human wellbeing and security.
Infrastructure: It will work with a few administrations which were believed to be not
plausible in the past, for example, on the web and web banking, far off learning offices
for instructive foundations, asset sharing for libraries as well as other examination
organizations, telemedicine (remote arrangement of wellbeing administrations,
interfacing wellbeing offices to specialty discussion administrations, giving distant
36 | P a g e
V.
appraisal and indicative administrations). This will deliver a drawn-out sure effect in
the financial scene of the metropolitan regions.
Employment, commercial activities, and other benefits: The properties and anchor
organizations that will get broadband Internet and media transmission administrations
will give a huge positive effect on the areas served by the venture through shared
utilization of the introduced optical fiber organization. These effects incorporate
furnishing impeded and weak populaces with admittance to reasonable broadband
administrations in un-served and underserved regions. When the venture is finished, it
would straightforwardly make few unexpected positions. These new positions would
quite often build after some time, as a feature of a steady extension of the economy.
Moreover, the expanded accessibility of rapid broadband foundation would give
chances to further developed efficiencies in business and modern tasks and in
Government. A better broadband organization will extend contest and will diminish the
expense of Internet administration to the shoppers (for example discounted data
transmission cost to be paid by the end clients).
4.9 Cumulative Summary of Impacts
The proposed fiber optic link laying activity by SCL will not ecologically affect the undertaking
region. Execution of the proposed activity would have a restricted measure of, present moment,
neighborhood impacts on vegetation, soils, clamor level, water assets, air quality, visual and stylish
assets, and traffic development. It is not normal, in any case, that any of the above impacts would
endure over a drawn-out period past the establishment period of this undertaking. Positive effects
incorporate improved and less expensive admittance to Internet and telecom offices, which might
decidedly affect the instruction, wellbeing, business and modern areas, work creation and so forth
Past, present, and future purposes of the venture region incorporate proceeded with utilization of
the city streets for utilities and traffic, khals and streams for seepage and route and extensions for
traffic. These sorts of exercises would go on after the task is finished. Hence the proposed project,
in blend with past, present, and future purposes would not bring about any drawn out unfavorable
combined impacts on the venture region.
The accompanying table shows a synopsis of the natural and social effects which were
distinguished in the past area utilizing a straightforward semi-quantitative engaging agenda. The
effects on the ecological compartments (greenery, air, water assets, soil and geography, clamor
level, and so on) and human-use factors (loss of pay, visual and tasteful assets, foundation,
authentic and social assets human wellbeing and security, and so forth) were measured relying
upon their average communication with project exercises during development and activity stages.
The correlation of effects comparing to the no task situation is additionally introduced. Evaluations
were made with regards to whether the effects were positive (advantageous) or negative
(destructive), present moment (short recuperation time) or long haul (expanded recuperation time)
and of high or low/moderate power. The accompanying table shows that most of the adverse
consequences are of low power and are present moment in nature.

4.10 Environmental and Social Management System and Procedures
For sub-activities to be carried out by Summit Communications Ltd., an "Ecological and Social
Unit" inside the SCL will direct the natural and social administration issues related with the
venture. For viable and opportune execution of ecological defend exercises, two senior authorities
(Deputy Manager and Senior Manager of SCL) will work and answer to the General Manager or
comparable who will help the central individual (General Manager of SCL). These authorities will
be liable for the exercises of "Natural and Social Unit" in endeavor ecological screening and
checking and will report straightforwardly to the General Manager SCL. Figure 5.1 shows
exercises and institutional responsibilities regarding execution of the proposed fiber optic
organization project by SCL.
SCL will be answerable for completing E&S separating understanding with the format. The
screening structure has been intended to lead fundamental evaluation of the effects of significant
sub-project exercises on the biological, physical-synthetic, and financial climate of the
encompassing regions. SCL will plan site-explicit relief measures and observing convention. SCL
will take on the moderation estimates which best suits their training and applicable to the
circumstances at the site in view of the conventional EMP and BMPs. For natural appraisal, SCL
will not enlist individual advisors. The 'Climate and Social Unit' of SCL will be answerable for
execution of EMP and readiness of quarterly reports. Timing, recurrence, and length of observing
conventions is connected to the general execution timetable of the venture and will be chosen by
the head (General Manager or likeness) PMU. The ecological and social central individual of PMU
(General Manager or likeness SCL) will share half yearly advancement report on EMF execution
with the IPFFII cell of Bangladesh Bank.
38 | P a g e
An outsider counseling firm (to be employed independently by SCL) might be given the obligation
to autonomously screen the general exhibition of ecological administration of the proposed project,
incorporating consistence with significant WB guidelines and execution norms.
4.11 Stakeholder Engagement Plan
Shareholder Engagement is an essential part of SCL activity as fiber optic link will be introduced
out in the open land close to human settlements or different work environments. Since the
subtleties of the undertaking area are not known and will be chosen sometime not too far off, the
Stakeholder Engagement Plan is introduced as a system as to portray the way to deal with partner
commitment that is visualized during project execution. The structure initially spreads out how to
distinguish the partners who will be educated and counseled about the task, including people,
gatherings, or networks that:
• Are impacted or prone to be impacted by the venture (project-impacted parties); and
• May have an interest in the undertaking (other integrally involved individuals).
39 | P a g e
Then, at that point, it talks about the methodology to be continued to orchestrate gatherings or
meetings with partners. SCL will do partner interview as a piece of the benchmark study which
will archive the strategies followed, synopsis of conversations and crucial points of contention
addressed (if any).
4.12 Benefit to the Industry
Summit Communications Limited will rent out Backbone network transmission establishment.
Data transfer capacity to being understood specialist organization for example ISPs, Cable
Television Drivers, and ANS. Drivers. The organization will hold the force of the transmission
outfit including optic fiber, ODF, normal check, terminal outfit, and so on what is more, the
organization will be answerable for the general situation and preservation separate spine.
Therefore, at whatever point any new driver. remembers for the assiduity, they will not have to
invest energy or magnate to lay out their organization and., in this way, their Capital use and
Operating expense both will be diminished. Additionally, since SCL is raising Optical Fiber Cable
organization underground, perilous surge string. will be outdated and the congruity and trust ability
of their organization will be amplified enormously. Wastage of string and telecom outfit will be
decreased and by partaking them every driver will not need to import excess string and, in this
way, it will save public cash safes. Likewise, the organization's concept of. a typical organization
spine for all drivers will make network foundation will be more straightforward and
a lot Further coordinated for the absolute telecom assiduity.
Raising up Optical Fiber Network is one of the significant basics of raising " Digital Bangladesh".
Digitalization of government offices, robotization among numerous services as well as to remote.
administrations, digestive tract CCTV organization, business control framework, resident brought
together information base. The framework, online mileage bill assortment, and so on can be
conceivable by utilizing this design. Further, over open, and private theological schools, sodalities,
and colleges can be associated and every one of the clinics can be. associated through this network
this will be useful to emplace medication or E-learning, and so forth This implies in general
efficiency and adequacy can be sped up by utilizing a construction that will be made by Summit
Communications Limited.
40 | P a g e
The diagram above shows the expense of broadband network access, which is more than 100%
of month-to-month GNI per capita, putting Bangladesh much farther behind Nepal. Singapore,
China, and Australia are the costliest nations to utilize the web. People in Hong Kong, Japan,
South Korea, and New Zealand spend under 1% of their month-to-month GNI for web use, while
those in SAARC countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and the Maldives pay
altogether less. a huge organization and ISPs' upward expenses have brought about a greater cost
to GNI each month proportion, which can be extraordinarily diminished by laying out the NTTN
organization and bringing down ACPU (Average Cost per User) as per Summit
Communication's duty plan for ISP organizations, permitting the business to give cheaper web
access to end-clients.
4.13 Grievance Redress
Grievance Related to Workers
The third party (Contractors) are the first recipients of any grievance related workers (salary,
working condition, working hours etc). However, the SCL field supervisor oversees the response
of Contractors. In case the Contractor is not able to solve the grievance, the SCL supervisor himself
solves the problem at the sub-project level. The workers are free to register their grievances in
SCL headquarters formally, the modality of which are mentioned below.
Grievance Related to SCL Employees or Any Affected Persons
Any persons can register their grievances by the modes of receive set by SCL. All grievances are
accumulated directly to the SCL head office. The Receive modes are:
• 24-7 Hotline: Grievances are received mainly by a 24-7 hotline (Number:
+8801938432480, +8801938432481). Competent representative of SCL is required to be
available at the hotline to receive any grievance at the first time.
• Fax: The sub-project-affected persons can also register their grievances via a fax (Fax
Number: 02-8189577).
• Email: Any kind of complain can also be received by SCL via Email (Email address:
support@summitcommunications.net).
• Letter: preferred mode of grievance placement by government organizations or private
entities.
The first stage of grievance redress involves solution of the problem directly at the field level by
the field supervisor. This is usually the case when remedy is sought if SCL operation ruptures
adjacent utilities (Gas, water or wastewater lines) and the grievance is received by the field
supervisor directly. If the grievance cannot be solved at the field level, it will be forwarded to the
headquarters in Dhaka for the Corporate Affairs Office to deal with.
If the grievance is received at the Headquarters, grievances may be categorized according to the
severity level of the Grievance and registered to the databank of SCL. All grievances will be
initially received by the Corporate Affairs Department of SCL. SCL would duly address their
grievances within one month of the receipt of the complaint. A Grievance Redress Committee
(GRC) may be considered in outstanding cases that cannot be resolved directly and require
mediation by a third party. After addressing the complainant’s grievance, a written confirmation
41 | P a g e
will be taken and finally the database will be compiled to the databank. GRC will not certainly
prohibit the complainant’s right to go to the court.
5. Internship Experience
SCL treats its Interns as significant elements in addition to personnel of this company.
Interns get the opportunity to discover the actual commercial enterprise & expert global
of this organization. SCL presents the environment to Interns to study thru way of life. I
used to work as an Intern with the Business Development Department.
Workload is the amount of labor a person must do. There may be a difference among the actual
amount of work and the person's belief of the workload. Workload can also be classified as
quantitative (the amount of labor to be finished) or qualitative (the issue of the work).

8. Conclusion
This internship was an academic necessity for the Undergraduate Bachelor Program. When I
initially started at Summit Communications Limited it was indistinct to precisely what was my
obligations were to be. Nevertheless, soon through my Supervisor and Colleagues I could
comprehend what my work included and what precisely I needed to do. This entry-level position
has given me adequate chances to find out about the entire SCL operational framework.
SCL has been the leading infrastructure company in the country for the past few years. The new
projects that they are planning to start rooting will add more value to the company as well as the
company’s finances. These projects will create infrastructures that can be used for further future
purposes and fulfill the country’s needs more efficiently and effectively.
Throughout the previous three months, I had a feeling that I was one of them. My supervisor helped
me a considerable measure to comprehend the easily overlooked detail which was important to
clear the understanding of the entire framework. I could have learned couple of more things yet
because of time restraint it was impractical. Still, I think I have learned such a large number of
things that are going to help me in my future profession. The treasured memory of SCL will stay
with me for quite a while.
