LEADERSHIP VS. MANAGEMENT
How does one identify if he or she is a leader or a manager? Can a manager be a
leader, or a leader be a manager?
In my three years of being part of the work industry, I mistakenly believe that being a
manager is synonymous to being a leader as they both deal and lead a group of people and
it’s just a matter of whether you’re a good or a bad one.
However, by definition, there’s already a difference between the two. A manager can
be defined as somebody who takes control and is administering, directing, and ensuring that
things are happening and operating as they should be. On the other hand, a leader can be
defined as somebody who creates a vision that inspires people to follow that vision and move
forward towards achieving it.
Leadership is not the same as management. Responsibility and authority are not the
same. Leaders take responsibility, managers will tell you what to do. Your boss is your
manager. But leaders are required to do is not to demand authority but insist on taking
responsibility.
Excellence is about leadership and leadership is about solving interesting problems
even if they’re no on the agenda. Managers are slave to their agenda.
Are you an effective leader or manager? In these days of ever-changing business
environments, it is more important than ever to be self-sufficient and able to handle multiple
tasks. Some people are born with natural leadership abilities, while others may need a little
more guidance in order to take the helm.
There are two main types of leadership – management and leadership. Management leaders
focus on strategic planning, organizing, leading and controlling their team's performance.
Leadership leaders are facilitators who create opportunities for their team to achieve its goals.
It is helpful to understand the difference between these styles so that you can be most effective
as a leader or manager.
Both management and leadership require real skills, but management leaders need more than
just intelligence; they need skills in problem solving and decision making. On the other hand,
leadership leaders have an innate ability to motivate others and set high standards. It takes

both skill sets to be a successful leader. However, if you want to excel in either role, it is
important to develop your managerial skills first.
Which style of leadership is better for your business? Leadership versus management has
long been a debate. And while both styles have their pros and cons, ultimately one will work
better for your business than the other. Here's how to decide which style is best for you.
There are two types of leadership: leadership versus management. Management is the
approach where someone oversees and manages a team or individual. Leadership, on the
other hand, is the ability to inspire people and get them to follow your lead.
There are pros and cons to both styles of leadership. But ultimately, one will work better for
your business than the other. Here's how to decide which style is best for you:
When it comes to running a business, it's important to know which style of leadership works
best for you. If you're a manager, then you'll need to have strong leadership skills in order to
take your business to new heights. If you're more of a leader, then you'll need managerial
abilities in order to keep your team together and motivate them on occasion.
