LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to :
• Understand the rules of conjunctions and how to
use them.
• Answer the questions based on the questions given.
We can join two independent
clauses to form a sentence
using a conjunction.
Conjunctions include…..
for, and, but, or, yet, so, since,
although and because.

We use ‘or’ to show a choice
between two or more options.
We use ‘for’ to present
reasons.
We use ‘yet’ to present an
outcome or contrast.
We use ‘so’ to present a
consequence or result.
We use ‘since’ to express
cause and effect.
Since you are very kind, I will give
you a gift.
We use ‘although’ to show
contrast.
Although the man is old, he is very
strong.
