Republic of the Philippines Department of Education REGION X DIVISION OF CAGAYAN DE ORO SOUTHWEST 1 DISTRICT NARRATIVE REPORT ON DIVISION INITIATIVE FOR PROJECT SAVER Department of Education- Division of Cagayan de Oro City initiated another environmental project which they called ‘PROJECT SAVER’ (SAVe nature, lifE and futuRe). This said effort promotes tree planting, tree growing, and tree care activities to replace trees that have been cut down for the manufacturing and use of paper, specifically amid the challenges we are dealing presently where the mode of learning is through printing of self-learning modules and other learning resources. As stated in Division Memorandum (D.O.) No. 480 series of 2020 that each school in both public elementary and secondary received tree seedlings which were distributed through the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) section in the school’s governance and operations division. The tree planting activity was held on November 23 rd27th of last year, 2020. Moreover, all SAVER activities were monitored by the supervisors when they visited schools. Withal, this great opportunity strives not only to restore nature, but also to maintain the long-term stability of the environment for the generations to come.
