This presentation is
about nutrition. It is
defined as the process
by which an animal or
plant takes in and
utilizes food
substances. Essential
nutrients include
proteins,
carbohydrates, fat,
vitamins, minerals, and
electrolytes.
Normally, 85% of daily
energy use is from fat
and carbohydrates and
15% from protein.
Nutrition is essential for
growth and
developments, health
and being. Your
nutritional status is the
state of your health as

Importance Of Eating A
Variety Of Food In The Right
Proportions
• A balanced diet is a diet
that is meant to give
your body the amount
of nutrients that it
requires.
• Too much or too little of
something can be
harmful to the body.
Therefore, a balanced
diet consists of having
a balanced diet helps
us fight against
sicknesses and keep
us fit in general.
• If we don’t take in the
required amount of
nutrients that we need,
we could face many
types of health issues.
Even though it doesn’t
seem that important, it
can do a great deal of
damage to us if we
don’t give our body

Food Choices

rates.

level, gender, age and
genetics also contribute to the
choices we make. Health

The Role Of Media In
Advertising
• Adolescence is crucial stage of
growth, so the focus should be on
helping children consume foods
from all the groups. Yet most of the
advertisements that we see focus
on sugary foods, fast food meals
and packaged foods which only
increase health related problems.
• Advertising also plays a huge role
in shaping the ever-changing
norms of society both nationally
and globally. With the growing role
of advertising in the lives of people
attention now is being paid to the
various negative as well as positive
effects of advertising
• Food industry advertising that
targets children and youth has
been linked to the increase of
childhood obesity.
