Arab Spring Bahrain - The protestors asked the government for a new constitution because the majority of people were poor and disenfranchised by the Sunni monarchy. Then, demonstrators started to get killed. Protestors fought back. This uprising was influenced by the revolt in Egypt and Tunisia. Yemen - Protests happened against unemployment, economic conditions and corruption, the government’s decision to change Yemen’s constitution. Syria - The dream of democracy of protestors was met with government opposition. The government killed and imprisoned them, splitting the country. Then, the Civil war broke out. Libya - The revolt began when protestors fought against forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi.
