“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives
of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” A statement from the great Nelson
Mandela who became the inspiration of most aspiring leaders from different parts of the globe.
To His Excellency, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr, to all the heads
of the different agencies who are here with us today, to all my fellow students, ladies and gentlemen, Good
Morning!
Last year, the Philippines had a very controversial and historical national election. It is a season of alliances
and clashes of the country’s famous political parties and most influential names in the field of public
service. It is the season where Filipinos are once again having to decide who will lead the country for the
next six years. It is the season where people are neither unite or collide fighting each other’s belief and
idealism. While supporters from both parties are busy defending their presidential bet, The Philippine is
under winding path and inquisitively wondering what future held for the country after the election. The
Presidentiables on the other hand express their will and interest to serve the country as way of convincing
people to vote for them. Leaving each voters, a promise to alleviate each Filipino’s life by providing jobs,
better education, health, agriculture and technology to enjoy. In the end, the people have spoken- His
Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is now the President of this Republic.
Eleven months after the election, at this juncture, allow me to speak before you ladies and gentlemen as
to where is the Philippines right now under this new administration. First, the accomplishments. In
agriculture, sugar importation was rejected and made a reorganization of the Sugar Regulatory
Administration to solve the problems within the organization like prioritizing sugar producers inside the
country and crackdown on sugar hoarders and smugglers. In peace and order, the President announced
that War on Drugs will continue but in a different way- no more tokhang operation will ever to happen
under his administration. In continuation of the past administrations’ economic and infrastructure
projects- the PPP or Private Public Partnership of the late President Pnoy to Build, Build, Build of PPRRD,
President Bongbong have allocated P1.196 trillion for 2023 infrastructure programs. In education, after
having under long period of quarantine and limited movements which most learners and even educators
faced hard times coping up with online learning methodology- President Bongbong signed the gradual
reopening of face-to-face classes in the whole country. In the field of Health and social policies, in relation
to the pandemic, the president approved the voluntary use of face mask in outdoor with good ventilation
and one of the best order the president I believe in terms of social equity is the cleaning of 4Ps beneficiary
list. IN terms of foreign policy, the president started stated visits from allied countries from various part
of the world where he secure billions of dollars of investment pledges. Under his administration, he also
restructured some government agencies like the abolishment of the Presidential Anti-Corruption
Commission (PACC) and the Office of the Cabinet Secretary. He also vetoed the bill strengthening the
Department of Justice's Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC)
and the Transferring the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) from the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). These are
the only few of the many accomplishments this administration has to mention in just less than 1 year. In
just a very short time we have seen changes and improvement this country needs which led me to askhow much more this administration can do in the next five years for the development of this nation?
President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos in his eleventh months signed significant bills which now a law.
First, the RA11934 or also known as Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Card Registration Act. With this law,
cases of hacking, online scamming and identity/ data theft is expected to eradicate because telcos can
now have the identity of sim user by mandatory registration. Another law signed is the RA 11935
or also known as An Act Postponing the December 2022 Barangay and SK Elections. The
participation of Kabataan in nation building is very essential in the community. Young aspiring public
servant will have to make sure that their platform is relevant to the needs of the community. The
postponement of SK Election is somehow important because there is a need to polish the election
procedures, review qualification of those who want to run as young public servant. There other laws that
were signed during the eleventh month of this administration and we are looking forward to a more
relevant, pro-filipino and economic assuagement laws in the next five years of this administration.
NO country is too perfect when it comes to policy and administration. Even the richest country in the world
has its own record of poor people living in that country. Even the highly tech operated countries suffer to
some technological problems too. The Philippines known to many famous and infamous
