Are you ready to become a HYFLEX Teacher? Yes I am, from a teachers perspective, it can be challenging because I need to pay attention to and plan for multiple audiences. Effectively teaching with this model requires much more planning than teaching to a regular class or even to an online-only class. To prepare for HyFlex teaching, you need to plan for how you will manage your in-class learning activities so that they are engaging for people in the room and connected synchronously. And what will be the primary challenge and how do I intend to address it? Classroom instruction should be implemented using effective face to face instructional approaches. Several things may change in a HyFlex environment, however. Since our learners are free to choose their participation mode, the teacher may not know which learner will show up in the classroom, which complicates planning activities. Our experience has shown relatively consistent participation patterns in single classes, so over time the instructor will be able to better predict student participation. Thank you.
