Introduction to the Organization
The Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) was founded in 1983 with the
mission to boost and facilitate the Egyptian exports in all sectors, agricultural,
industrial and commercial.
EBank soon distinguished itself as a core of export operations in Egypt. EBank’s
emphasis on the client and dedicated vision to boosting exporters gained it the
trust of several Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), individuals and Financial
Institutions.
The bank plays an integral role locally and internationally. Locally through their
import substitution projects to improve local production, and internationally
through facilitating Egyptian products to the worldwide market through financing
export transactions. EBank’s full range of services is available to all of our
clientele.
EBank has branched out throughout Egypt and founded a network of
correspondent banks with economic ties to Egypt, all with the aim of facilitating
business to Egyptian exporters.
EBank supports industries through its diversified product offerings. Though EBank
lends special attention to exporters and import-substitution industries through
corporate lending and syndicated loans, its diversified financial packages are
extended to non-exporting industries as well.
EBank is committed to promoting the SME sector, as it recognizes that SMEs are
the back-bone of the Egyptian economy, representing more than 75% of total
employed workforce according to recent government estimates. Thus, EBank is
committed to facilitating SMEs, in line with the 2005 IFC Agreement Sustainability
Goals.

Customers: Bank dependent on 2 major types of customers (Retail, Corporate)
Both affecting the bank directly by their financial stability and appetite to Invest
and expand
Competitors: Egypt have 40 Banks (CIB, QNB, NBE, SAIB , etc,,,) considered as
competitors in addition to the financial Corporates that partially provide same
services with different market shares the most significant banks in market shares
is the national Banks
Suppliers: EBank has different type of suppliers in all fields Ex. (stationary
suppliers, Furniture’s, finishing and electrical, Cars, etc,,,,,) company can
substitute all the suppliers with competitors in same field
Labor market: Employees in banking industry should be highly qualified
accordingly hiring processes is very difficult and sometimes faces scarcity in
resources

Tardiness in goods shipment affects banking customers and their ability to
commit to bank or expand on additional loans

customer experience and facilitation of service ex (Mobile banking and Internet

CBE regulations and House of Representatives decisions
Natural variables: Egypt natural resources (Land , water, fertile soil ) in different
districts affects Ebank customers in decision taking for investment and dealing
with banking sector
Scio cultural variable values of the population in some districts imposes the Bank
to deal in special ways ex. Islamic Programs in loans
