WHAT ARE ANTIBIOTICS?
 An antibiotic is a type of antimicrobial
substance active against bacteria. It is the
most important type of antibacterial agent for
fighting bacterial infections, and antibiotic
medications are widely used in the
treatment and prevention of such
infections.They may either kill or inhibit the
growth of bacteria
WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANTIBIOTICS?
 The seven types of antibiotics are: (1) Penicillin's (2)
Cephalosporin’s (3) Aminoglycosides (4) Tetracyclines
(5) Macrolides (6) Aromatic Antibiotics and (7)
Nucleoside Antibiotics.
WHEN WAS THE FIRST ANIBIOTICS MADE?
 In 1928 penicillin, the first true antibiotic, was
discovered by Alexander Fleming, Professor of
Bacteriology at Mary's Hospital in London. After
isolating the mold and identifying it as belonging to
the Penicillium genus, Fleming obtained an extract
from the mold, naming its active agent penicillin.
He determined that penicillin had antibacterial
effect on staphylococci and other gram-positive
pathogens.
