1. Should Pip have taken Joe away from the mysterious man in the inn?
Why?
Yes, I think he should have done that. Pip realized that the strange man
in
the
inn
knew
about
the
convict
(Magwitch)
because he was using the blacksmith’s file that Pip had given to
Magwitch to stir his tea. So, Pip knew that the man was connected with
Magwitch in some way. This made Pip feel frightened and he wanted to
take Joe away from that mysterious man.

2. Why do you think the mysterious man in the inn gave Pip a coin
wrapped in a banknote?
Perhaps he did that to test Pip’s honesty or perhaps the money was a
reward sent by Magwitch to Pip because he was grateful to him for his
help when they met earlier on the marches.

As Pip realized that the mysterious man was in some way connected
with Magwitch, perhaps Pip did not want to get involved in something
illegal by accepting money from someone he did not know well.

turning point in Pip’s life. He even decided to improve his position in life
to be worthy of her love. Therefore, it was extremely cruel of Estella to
break his heart.

No, I don’t think so. Miss Havisham had a terrible experience when her
marriage failed. She wanted to take revenge on all men. She trained
Estella to break men’s hearts, and Pip was her first victim.

No, it is not. Miss Havisham was psychologically disturbed because of
her failed marriage. She only used Estella as a tool for her game. She
wanted to ruin Pip’s hopes and break his heart. She made Pip suffer as
he loved Estella so much for nothing.

No, of course I wouldn’t do that. If a person had a horrible experience
in their life, they shouldn’t continue to live in the past. Miss Havisham
should have forgotten about her failed marriage and started to live a
normal life again. Wearing the wedding dress for such a long time
indicates that she was still a prisoner of her past.

Yes, I do pity him. Pip was just a young boy who had no experience in
life. Miss Havisham took advantage of Pip’s love for Estella and wanted
Estella to break his heart. Estella even treated him like a dog when she
put his food on the ground instead of handing it to him.

No, I wouldn’t be on good terms with him. Orlick was a bad character.
He was mean and lazy. He hated Pip so much. He was a violent person.
He even hit Mrs. Joe on the head with a hammer, which made her unable
to talk or move.

so much, and instead of loving him the same as he did, she just followed
Miss Havisham’s instructions and tried her best to break his heart. She
always treated him badly and made him feel that he was not worthy of
her.
