In those days, it was the law of trade that a trader would first meet the king of the country, he was going to trade with. He used to show all his merchandise and inform about his qualities and uniqueness, so this trader was also presented in the king's court after reaching Baghdad. The merchant presented gifts to the king, exhibited his goods, and started to express the qualities of certain good items. 3 His Majesty! “This is a watch, which runs with water power. It is a strange masterpiece. I bought it in Greece. This is a flying carpet, which travels into the air. I bought this magic carpet from Iran. This magic carpet is made of pure gold thread, which never becomes dusty”. The merchant smiled and resumed his conversation. Oh my lord! “Check this pen that I bought from Hindustan. It is inkless and does not require ink to write”. All the people present in the court were listening to the traders attentively. They seemed quite surprised by the show of 4 these magic items. The king smiled and said, “Very well, all things are very rare that you have bought from different countries, but tell me that you saw something worthy of my glory in Hindustan”. The merchant said to inspire the king, His Majesty! "There were so many things of your interest, but to get what I liked, I had to stay there for some time while I had only two days’ time. So I couldn't bring it for you.” "What was that thing?" The kind asked instantly. 5 “That was a unique pearl, which exceeds distributing others, no one can steal it, and lots of jewelry can be made by this pearl”. The merchant replied. "I must get it." The king decided. He immediately instructed one of his special ministers to bring that pearl and never retune back without getting this pearl." The king's minister reached India after several months of difficult travel. He went to the city which the merchant had told, the city would have the king's desired diamond. The minister asked the people about the most famous jeweler in the city and went to the jeweler's shop. He 6 introduced himself to Johri and explained the purpose of his visit. The minister said to Johri, "I am searching for such a diamond, which neither be stolen, not it will be diminished by distributing among people, but increases its size. Moreover, which also has the quality to make other ornaments from it". Johri listened to the minister very attentively and said, "I have been in the jewelry business for forty years. I have never seen such a diamond in my life nor have I heard from 7 anyone about it. I think that someone has made you fool." "Not, it's not". The minister said. "The businessman who has told all this is a very famous and well-known businessman. He often comes to our country for trade. He cannot dare to lie to the king". The Minister visited many other jewelers to inquire about the unique diamond, but everyone gave the same answer. Finally, disappointed on all sides, the minister 8 decided to return to Baghdad. He made the decision to return, but inside the minister was very scared. He was sure that the king would punish him severely. Maybe the king will issue the order to behead him for his failure. One day the minister was passing through the jungle. There was an old well on the way. When the minister was passing by it, he heard a cry coming from the same well. Someone one was calling for help. It seemed that this voice was of a girl. The minister was forced to look at the well. 9 He saw a beautiful fairy in the well that was slaved into heavy chains. The fairy told the minister that she was the princess of Fairyland and the magician kidnapped her. The princess fairy further told the farmer, “This magician wanted to marry me. If he succeeds to marry me, he will become the most powerful magician on the earth. He wishes to be the lord of entire the world.” The Fairy Princess requested the minister to help her. The minister took a rope and threw it into the well. The Fairy Princess hold the rope and was taken out of the well. 10 As she came out of the well, she threw a magic fire with his magic rod, and the magician along with the well both started to burn. Fairy thanked the minister, and said, “Whenever seemed quite uneasy and worried? What is wrong with you? Do you need my help?" The minister told his story that the pearl he was looking for, he had not found it anywhere. The good fairy listened to the minister attentively. At once she started laughing and said, 11 "I am sorry that you did not work wisely. Certainly, the name of this unique jewel is KNOWLEDGE. No one can steal it. The more you distribute it among the people, the more it increases". The fairy replied. The minister was listening to the fairy with great care and is eventually convinced that the knowledge is a pearl, the world's most valuable piece of jewelry. Now the minister was very happy as he had succeeded to find out the unique diamond, the kind ordered to find. On arriving before the king, he told about the pearl of knowledge and explained. The king was convinced 12 that the only knowledge is such a pearl, which no one can steal. Knowledge is a pearl whose shine is from the earth to the throne, and in the light of this pearl, man gains access to the creation of this universe. 13
