INTRODUCTION
1) Dogs can be a valuable addition to any family.
2) Teenagers lives often improve with the addition of a dog as they
learn responsibility by become the dog’s main care provider.
3) Teenagers can, and often do, take care of pets like dogs, so that
parents mend up doing very little of the actually care of the animal.
4) Let’s explore just how a dog can enhance the lives if a typical
family.
5) Dogs are one of the most common pets in the United States if not
the world.
6) Dogs provide companionship and security to any family that
adopts them.

CONCLUSION
1) The number of tasks a child needs to perform for the maintenance
of the dog not only teach the child responsibility but can also help to
lessen the workload of parents.
2) All in all, a dog is a true gift to any family and few and far between
are the families that can’t imagine living without one.
3) The feeling of safety and security a dog provides can help
everyone in the family at ease.
4) Having a dog can enhance the lives of all members of a family.
5) Children, and parents, enjoy the unquestioned love of the dog and
feel like they have a new friend.

1) The Consumer Safety Commission stated that “from 2005-2015,
houses with digs were 35% less likely to be burglarized and 57% less
likely to suffer a personal assault in the home.”
2) Taking care of dogs, for example, often requires young people to
take on chores round the house, teaching them responsibility and
instilling in them a work ethic.
3) Most parents felt like this New Jersey mother: “I thought getting a
dog would double my work, but in fact it actually decreased.”
4) The study also went on to speculate that responsible students
were far more likely to “excel in school.”
5) But dogs can do more than just keep the family safe.
6) This is where dogs come in.
7) Teenagers with pets are more likely to have responsibilities in the
home than those who do not.
8) Dogs can provide companionship and love when the parents are
too busy to do so.
9) They also often mention how much more responsible their children
have become.
10) “Dogs are an important part of many families, providing unending
love and friendship, not to mention exercise.” Dogs also provide
security and safety.
11) “A 2020 survey stated that students with pets were up to 50%
more likely exhibit responsibility and were 40% less likely to use
drugs or alcohol.”
12) In a typical American family, most of the adults are employed
outside of the house or work at home and being busy they often
don’t have the time to be a regular companion to their children.
13) By being able to enjoy having a dog in the house and not have an
increase in responsibilities most parents feel like the dog is a
“valuable member of the family.”
14) In most households with pets, once the children become old
enough to perform pet care tasks, such as feeding, exercising, and
cleaning up after them, the number of pet-related tasks performed by
the parents dramatically decreased.
