Types of computers
A computer is a electronic device and there are different
categories of computer, each type has their own qualities
and does different things
The first type is supercomputer: it is the fastest and the
most expensive computers. It can perform hundreds of
million instructions per second.
Advantage is decrease processing time
Second type is mainframe: it is can work for along time
period without interrupted, and can do the work of a lot
of users at the same time.
Disadvantage of supercomputer & mainframe is have no
great different between this two types of computers they
takes up along space and cost high.
Server is the third type: it is less than supercomputer
because it is don’t solve one hard problem it’s only can
solve many little problems.
Some types of server (web server, application server ,file
server)
Also personal computer (PC) is one of the types of
computers: it has other name is microcomputer and it’s
low cost for users.
In 1981 IBM did the first PC and in 1983 apple followed
her
Some types of PC (work station, laptop, minicomputer,
Smartphone, tablet)
Workstation is one of PC types and it’s for technical
&scientific application, and also performing specific job
The types of workstation is (graphing workstation, music
workstation, engineering design workstation)
