Introduction
• A network scanner is a tool used to discover
devices and services on a network. It
can be used to scan a range of IP addresses or a
single device, and it can be configured to look for
specific ports or types of devices. Network
scanners can be used to
identify vulnerabilities on a network, to audit the
network for security purposes, or to
troubleshoot connectivityNetwork
issues scanner is tools of Network Analysis which scans
the network on the real time basis.
.
WORKING
HOW TO START WORKING?
• Network scanners send a packet or ping to
every possible IP address and wait for a
response to determine the status of the
applications or devices (hosts). The
responding hosts are considered active,
while others are considered dead or
inactive. These responses are then
scanned to detect inconsistencies. After
that Administrator easily access on right
click of that device and get all information,
such as host name and system detail and if
that system on domain and having access
of administrative rights
so we can easily control the system for
example remotely shutdown and restart
device and access all features.
Results
The results of a network scan depend on the specific
tool and the settings that are
used. Some common things that network scanners
can report include:
i) A list of all devices that are connected to the
network, along with their IP
addresses and MAC addresses
ii) The operating system and version of each device
iii) The open ports and services on each device

etc.)
In general, the goal of a network scan is to provide a
comprehensive overview
of the devices and services that are present on a
network, so that administrators can
identify any potential security risks or connectivity
issues.
.
Limitations
Limitation or Requirement for the project is:
i) You must have internet connection and a valid IP.
ii) You must have Administrative access to control the
connected devices/hosts.
iii) This tool requires Domain Controller such as
Active Directory or System
Accessibility.

• In today’s world, every company, be it big or small,
strives hard to safeguard its
devices and systems from unauthorized access.
The companies must have a prevention
plan in hand to avoid future attacks on the
network. They need to invest in robust
network scanning tools to secure their system
against potential cyberattacks without
compromising with the performance. Before
choosing a tool, they need to take time to
understand which type of scanning tool is a
perfect fit for their network. The admins
need to implement the right sensors and tools to
protect the systems from being hacked
along with a robust scanner to translate packet
data into easily readable information.
