TEACHER REFLECTION FORM
Rationale: This Teacher Reflection Form enables the teacher in communicating
effectively his or her introspection with respect to the following emphases which
include what went well, what can be improved, challenges (CIGPs), what will you
do next time. Moreover, this shall serve as a substantial basis for facilitators of
education in improving, at a grassroot-level, their classroom instruction.
NAME: GERALDINE F. SAGARIO
GRADE LEVEL/S HANDLED: Grade 7 & Grade 9
SUBJECT/S TAUGHT: English, Developmental Reading, Advanced English
QUARTER & WEEK: Quarter 1, Week 3
During the third week of classes, I already memorized some of my
students’ name. Well, it’s really a big challenge for me to memorize names because
this is my weakness. Maybe next time, I will try to get along with my students
individually if time permits so I can also know them as well in terms of family
background, cultures, and traditions. This will also help me how to establish
rapport so that they will regard me as their friend making them more motivated to
participate in our everyday classes.
This week, I also accomplished administering our reading pre-assessment
to all learners using Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil IRI) with the help
of my fellow advisers. After this activity, my team will start to employ our reading
programs this coming week hoping to have sufficient time.
Based from the result of pre-reading assessment, I found out that there
are students who will fall under NR (nonreader) level. These are students from the
Grade 7 curriculum. It is quite frustrating because they are already in the
secondary yet they don’t know how to read simple English words. Whose fault is
this? Well, there is no time machine to flash back time so what I can do now is to
help these students to at least can read simple English words before the school
year ends.
