Introduction Hoşgeldiniz (Welcome), Dear Candidate we as SunExpress family thank you for your interest and application to SunExpress and we hope the best for you. During the pilot selection program you will be participating in a Simulator Screening Exercise. This will be conducted on a Full Motion Class D B-737 / 800 Flight Simulator. For preparation please read carefully the following guidelines. The exercise will be conducted and evaluated by a SunExpress Training Captain and there will be a SunExpress Screening Pilot who will act as PM (PNF) throughout the exercise but the Screening Pilot will not initiate any actions unless instructed to do so by you and he/she will not interfere with your decisions or make any suggestions. You will be PF throughout the exercise and expected to initiate any checklists, briefings and communications. The exercise will be completed throughout without the use of Autopilot, Auto-throttle, FDs and ND display will be used in FULL ROSE mode (basic HSI with ADF indications). Duration of the exercise will be around 45 to 60 minutes. There is two scenarios and one will be assigned to you according your previous flight experience explained as follows. Candidates with B-737 type rating or any other multi-pilot commercial aircraft rating will be assigned SCENARIO 1. Candidates with flight experience other than multi-pilot aircraft (military, singlepilot rating, and ext.) and candidates just out of flight school (0 hour) will be assigned SCENARIO 2. Each scenario will consist three Tasks, the 3rd task will be optional and it will be executed if time permits. For both scenarios airport will be Antalya Turkey LTAI / RWY 18C. Your Call-Sigh will be "SXS 3CQ" and ZFW 55000 kg, Takeoff FUEL 5000 kg which adds the TOW to 60000 kg. Pitch - Power / Configuration values table and Lido Charts for LTAI are enclosed with the briefing sheet. Please bring them with you to the simulator. Revision 00 / 11.04.2018 SXS-TM-SYL-SCREENING-010 4 / 15 Scenarios Chapter: 3 3. Scenarios 3.1. Scenario - 1 • TASK-1: You will be ask to plan and execute (fly) a visual circuit using RWY 18C. WX: CAVOK 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 • TASK-2: You will receive the departure clearance just before takeoff and you will experience Engine Failure after V1. You are expected to manage the flight then after. WX: OVC 008 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 • TASK-3: ILS Approach RWY 18C, with an intercept angle of 30 to 45 degrees. WX: ILS CAT I Minimums 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 3.2. Scenario - 2 • TASK-1: You will be ask to plan and execute (fly) a visual circuit using RWY 18C. WX: CAVOK 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 • TASK-2: You will receive the departure clearance just before takeoff. After a certain point the instructor will ask you to do a 360 degree right and left turns. Turns may include decent or climb. After air work you will receive radar vectors for ILS RWY 18C. WX: OVC 008 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 • TASK-3: ILS Approach RWY 18C, with a intercept angle of 30 to 45 degrees. WX: ILS CAT I Minimums 200 13 15/5 Q 1015 We do not require you to familiarize yourself with the specific operation of B-737 / 800 aircraft. You will be evaluated on your basic flying skills, cockpit management and overall command ability. Operate the simulator as it was your current aircraft type and use your own standard operating procedures (SOP). For configuration call out the speed you require and we will give you a suitable flap setting for that speed. Revision 00 / 11.04.2018 SXS-TM-SYL-SCREENING-010 5 / 15 Hints Chapter: 4 4. Hints • Acceleration Altitude is 1500 ft. AGL, 1700 ft. MSL during both single and all engine operations and it will appear as a green line on your altitude tape. • Takeoff will be done with Flaps 5 and V2 will be indicated in a magenta arrow box on your speed tape. • There is a FPV function on your PFD you are free to turn it on. • Your UP speed (clean speed, green dot speed) will be around 210 knots and your VREF speed (final approach speed) will be around 150 knots - We as SunExpress insist very much on stabilized approach. • And don't forget "simple is the best". We as SunExpress Family wish you best of luck and hope to welcome you soon to SunExpress Revision 00 / 11.04.2018 SXS-TM-SYL-SCREENING-010 6 / 15 B 737-800 % N1 and Pitch Values Chapter: 5 5.
