Nano silver
antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.
Silver nanoparticles can penetrate into cell walls, changing
the structure of cell membranes and even resulting in cell
death.
Nano-silver particles
Procedure:
1. Two solutions are provided:
0.0010 M AgNO3(aq) and 0.0020 M
NaBH4 (aq)
2. Using a measuring cylinder, pour
30 mL 0.0020 M NaBH4 into the 250
mL Erlenmeyer flask and place it in
an ice-bath.
3. Put a stir bar in the flask and set
it off for stirring.
4. Pour 10mL of 0.0010 M AgNO3 in
a beret. Add the AgNO3 solution in
a dropwise manner into the NaBH4
solution.
Observe what happens
Obsevations
Solution turns from colorless to yellow.
