Choose ONE Stakeholder for Sainsbury's and
answer the following questions;
- What makes them a stakeholder and why are they
interested in Sainsbury’s?
- Are they internal or external?
- How can they influence Sainsbury’s?
PRESSURE GROUPS
• A pressure group is interested in a business because
they want to know that they have acted ethically
• A pressure group can challenge and even change the
behaviour of a business by:
– writing letters to MPs
– contacting the press
– organising marches
– running campaigns

SHAREHOLDERS
• Shareholders are interested in a business because they
want to know if a profit will be made and if they will be
paid a dividend
• In a private limited company the shareholders may be
friends and family of the owners
• In a public limited company the shareholders can be
anyone
How do stakeholders communicate with a business?
What kind of relationship do stakeholders have with
the business?

You will be given two stakeholders.
20 minutes
In your groups discuss and write down for each stakeholder –
- How the stakeholder and business communicate?
- What influence does the stakeholder have on the business?
- What kind of conflicts might the stakeholder have with the
business?
You will report your findings back to the class.
