Biomolecules
Monomer (building blocks): A molecule that reacts with other molecules to form large
molecules (polymers).
There are 4 biomolecules:
Carbohydrates: Great source of energy. Some examples are pasta, bread, and rice.
Monomer: Monosaccharide
Lipids (Fats): Great for insulation and a great source of long-term energy. They also
make up cell membranes. Some examples are butter, oil, and cholesterol.
Monomer: Glycerol and Fatty Acids
Proteins: Great in muscle development, immune system, and most importantly, acting
as enzymes. Some examples are meat and beans.
Monomer: Amino Acids
Nucleic Acids: Include DNA and RNA. Some examples are pasta, bread, and rice.
Monomer: Nucleotides
