IV. PROCEDURES A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson The teacher will let the pupils to do the activity entitled Name Me. In this activity the teacher will show phrases or sentences which are the definitions of the words in a box. The pupils will choose the correct word in the box. (presented in a slide) The phrases/sentences: These refers to a landform on the Earth’s surface built by the accumulation of lava, ash and other materials from its eruptions. This is an opening of the volcano where lava and ashes are ejected. It refers to a pool of magma. Are volcanoes which erupted within the last 50 years or so. Are Volcanoes that has no record of eruption. Words: Volcanoes Vent Magma Chamber active volcanoes inactive volcanoes After the activity, the teacher will ask the following questions to review the lesson learned by the pupils from the previous lesson. 1. The teacher will facilitate the class activity, creating a volcanic eruption model and the pupils will present their output to the class. new lesson Things Needed: • • • • • 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup coconut vinegar (Tuba) 2 tablespoons baking soda Soil Empty can/empty water bottle/empty soda bottle Instructions: 1. Build your volcano cone using soil. In the center, use a container to hold liquid, depending on how big you are making your volcano, this can be an old water bottle, a soda bottle or an empty can with the top cut off, or even a simple glass jar. 2. Add ingredients to your container. This includes water and coconut vinegar or Tuba. Do not add your baking soda at this stage. 3. Add the baking soda when you are ready for an eruption. The baking soda will react with the vinegar and cause the eruption. 2. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 Presentation/Reporting Guide questions: 1.
