Week 2 – Extended Definitions
1. Apply knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas
Situation: Introduction (What’s new?)
Task: Using a blog, students gave extended definitions of underlined words. Hence
the said article was about the life of the author during Lockdown. Terminologies provided
were aligned on subject areas such as AP and Science since it dealt with history and
medical jargons. Thus, on the activity itself, they were tasked to provide additional
information on their chosen word which involve drawing (providing illustration of the word),
etymology (origin of the word), and other facts.
Action: Group Activity: Pick an underlined word in the selection then construct a
Vocabulary Map showing extended definitions of it. Presentation will be done after 5mins.
Result: Students were able to give details regarding the word they chose. They were able
to use their knowledge on Science, AP, ESP, and Arts as they presented their work.
2. Plan and deliver teaching strategies that are responsive to the special educational needs of
learners in difficult circumstances, including: geographic isolation; chronic illness; displacement
due to armed conflict, urban resettlement, or disasters; child abuse and child labor practices.
Situation: Introduction (What’s new?)
Task: Students discerned information from the video they watched regarding Indigenous
Tribes of Aetas in Pampanga (a documentary of their situation during remote
learning in the time of pandemic)
Action:
Learning Task 1: Watch closely the video then answer the questions that follow.
 What is the video all about?
 Can you relate yourself in the character of the story? How?
 As a student, what can you advice to students like you who are struggling due
to pandemic?
 Have you encountered unfamiliar words from the video? Can you give some?
 Usually, what strategies did you do to gain information from an unfamiliar
word?
The teacher asked each student to provide details on the struggles of Aetas during
remote learning. They also answered the processing questions.
Result: The students related themselves on the case of Aetas by giving situations that
recounted their pandemic experiences and how they overcome it. Likewise,
students were able to give inspiring words on students who are struggling due to
the advent of Covid 19

3. Select, develop, organize, and use appropriate teaching and learning resources, including ICT,
to address learning goals.
Situation: Assimilation (What have I learned?)
Task: Online quiz
Action: A google form link was given to students to access their link for the day
Result: Students answered the quiz via online
Situation: Engagement (What’s more?)
Task: Group Activity thru Breakout Sessions
Action: Students formed groups using Breakout Sessions and presented their outputs
during online class.
Result: Students utilized the time during Breakout Sessions and was able to present
their outputs via online
Situation: All parts of IDEA Exemplar/ lesson
Task: Present lesson via online
Action: Teacher presented her slidedecks via Google Meet and utilized FB messenger in
giving further instructions
Result: Students viewed the presentation using their device and they communicated using
various forms such as GMeet chat box and FB messenger for questions and
clarifications
